That's good, because they won't be breaking them in during Big 12 play. I'd take Durant over most players in the Big 12 any day. James is no slouch either.

So you still think that UCONN is 4 seeds better based on the fact that 2 of their incoming freshmen may be better than 2 of our incoming freshmen?
I also think Doug Wiggins is as god a point guard as any of our freshmen. If AJ Price is recovered from his illnesses, he's better than any point guard we have and I've already given my views on Jeff Adrien and Marcus Johnson. I just like UCONN's personnel better.

He guarded him on the perimeter alot of the night. At least, that is what people that were there said.
A fair amount, but a real coach would have had Thad bring the ball up and make the big guy guard all 94x50.

That is your opinion I suppose. Too many "ifs" for me. I'll take our team over their 2 hopeful exploding sophomores.

Other than Lofton, I wouldn't give you too much for our returnees.

How do you justify UCONN being a 3 seed then? They lost like 8 of their top 10 players(including their top 5). And they don't have a true PG.

Maybe they think he'll pull a Roy Williams and surprise some folks. UNC played without a true PG as well. BTW, bracketology this early is laughable :biggrin2:

By the way, you guys know damn well why UConn is a 3-seed. If I remember, the guys at ESPN have (I think) 5 of them projected first-rounders.

As much as I love college basketball, it's hard to believe there are even bracketology preditions out there right now for the upcoming season. That being said, I won't argue with a #7 seed. That would put us on the edge of the top 25 teams out there. As much as we're gonna have to rely on these newcomers, I'd say that's pretty good. Just the fact that Tennessee is even in some national basketball conversations now-a-days is great. Thanks Coach Pearl for helping to get us heading in the right direction, and for being the great P.R. guy that you are!! GO VOLS!!

..........Don't get me wrong, I like college football and all, but -------- yes, there are some people out there, even in Big Orange country, that would rather talk about college hoops than college football.

i'm finding it hard to believe that i almost always agree with hatvol, here i was all this time thinking he was the villain, while in reality, he just says the things that i don't want to say to avoid sounding pessimistic. UConn will probably rock this year, I think if we get contribution from our freshmen and Smith qualifies we are better than a 7 seed, but not by much. Let's not forget this will be a down year in college basketball, seems like everyone lost a lot.

Kansas, UNC, and Florida are absolutely loaded.

Those 3 should be favorites to be 1 seeds. The other idk right now.
Out west, Arizona and UCLA are both going to be very good.

Wow, giving Zona some props. I'd say there is a tossup of about 6 teams that could argue for that 4th spot.

i'll just go ahead and give it to the Jaspers of Manhattan
That program is done. Bobby G moving on to Seton Hall, coupled with CJ Anderson transferring to Xavier will turn them into just another MAAC also ran.
