Oregon or Auburn to win NC?

where does the 200K number come from? I know Cecil asked for 180 from MSU but was turned down. Maybe they got him for 50K? 100K? 0K?

Is there a legit 200K source?

Cam said the money was too much. If he asked for 180 from MSU, AU had to be higher. 200k sounds good.:)

In the BCS era, titles have been won by:
Phillip Fulmer
Larry Coker
Mack Brown
Les Miles
and possibly adding Gene Chizik... Seems crazy to me how so many coaches that are considered overrated, mediocre, or awful have won national titles. And I'm still not really sure what to think about Chip Kelly.

Wasn't it that they asked for 180,000, and that Auburn had agreed to 200,000. Apparently Cam preferred MSU, so they would have taken less.

We don't have 100% proof of this, but it's amazing to me how many people think that is a far-fetched story.

He reminds me of Spurrier a little. Doesn't know his DCs first name.:)

Got to pitch it around a little bit, put some scores up.

I honestly think Oregon and Auburn are both taking advantage of an down year of college football in general. I can't see either having much of a shot at a national title in most years past.

Kelly to me is more like Meyer, Stoops, or Tressel. Chizik is more like Fulmer or Miles.

Fulmer in 98 was getting the cream of the crop in regards to talent. He was a coach with something to prove.

Coker and Miles took over from guys that went to the NFL.

Brown never has to leave the state to get elite talent.

Florida '08 and Bama '09 would humiliate these teams.

I don't think they're better than any BCS Champion, except maybe the 2002 Buckeyes, but I don't think either beat the 2002 Canes team. 2002 Buckeyes style of play helped them slow down the game and pull out a win. Either of these teams try their fast paced style of offense against that Miami team, and they just get mutilated, IMO.

2001 Canes would beat either by about 60 if they played either and went all out the entire game. I also don't see the 1998 Vols, 2000 Sooners, 2003 Tigers/Trojans, 2004 Trojans, or 2005 Horns having much of a problem. 2006 Gators win easily, too, if Chris Leak was in the form he was in by the title game. IIRC, 2007 LSU was banged up a lot, but they also would win big if they were healthy. The only team I left out was the 1999 Seminoles, who I just didn't watch enough to make a judgment on.

One thing is for sure, someone will win with the worst defense for a national champ in the bcs era.

I think Oregon did for sure. Oregon only beat ONE ranked team this. And that was Stanford who inturn beat ZERO ranked teams. Both have about the same Strength of Schedule as Boise St.

Somebody look this up. But I think Oregon's win over Stanford is the only victory over a top 25 school for the whole conference. one victory for 10 teams!

Cow College takes the title in a 100-point shootout.

09 Bama wouldn't humiliate 2010 Auburn, they barely beat 09 Auburn & if Cam Newton was on the 2009 team Auburn probably beats Bama that day.

I don't think there is any way Oregon can stop Newton.

There isn't.

We would have given Oregon a game if GJ could have gone. If we didn't go 1 for 50 on 3rd down during the stretch he was out, a few games might have been much different.

This championship will be the first where I will not root for the SEC team. It's a farce that sCAM is playing.

I think Arizona was a top 25 team, and they beat them. Also, usc was ranked when they beat them.
