'10 AL LB Raiques Crump

As I said....

The mystery with Crump doesn't seem to be whether he'll pick the Vols but whether or not Tennessee will have room. From our standpoint that looks like it will entirely depend on what happens with the two 'commitments' listed above. If the Vols can hold onto either Williams and/or Stanley it could leave Crump's status as a 'take' uncertain.

TOS (*the two commitments they were talking about: Stanley and Ralph Williams)

Wow.. We are just loading up on the 2 star recruits. I hope this does not become a habit.

We are taking guys like Crump in order to fill our roster which Kiffin left depleted. I think it was like 18 players who either quit/transferred during the Kiffin era so we are low on players and that is why we are aking Crumps, Sapps, Jacksons... and who knows they may be gems.

After watching his video, I was excited about this guy. Then I read that he is an Eagle Scout and it made me even more excited.

Hope he turns out to be someone who was overlooked and should have been a 5*!

This kid really seems like a good kid who is going to work hard and do what the coaches tell him.

Love it... :bow2:

btw follow up to a question I posed in this thread, its a bit off topic, but TheDooley guy said we were in talks with someone who didnt accept our offer and I asked,

was it Todd Chandler?

well, Chandler still hasnt signed with anyone, he is a very talented DT, a lil on the short side with a few off the field issues, anyway we go after him with a cple available open slots ?

I wouldn't mind taking Todd Chandler.

Actually Rivals listed him as not having signed a LOI while Scout says he has signed with USF.

This guy looks VERY athletic and fluid; I think he's going to be a terror when he puts some weight on. And for all those interested in star ranking, take a look at some of the defenders on the Colts; Raheem brock went to temple and Robert Mathis got his only scholarship offer from Alabama A&M

I was thinking about the timing of Wilcox and Crump, and I saw this on scout:

Strength: Tacklers. Boise State always gets productive linebackers who fit a type. They're small, they're feisty, and they play with a chip on their shoulder. And they make tackles. Lots and lots of tackles. it doesn't matter who's in the mix, everyone hits.

We now know that Wilcox was interviewed on Monday before NSD, and accepted the offer as DC on Tuesday.
Crump was put on ice until Tuesday night, so the timing seems good for CDD waiting for the ok from CJW before the offer.

With our two open spots, the late offer from CDD to Crump seems odd outside of this scenario.

Maybe the Monday interview was a continuation of previous talks, and CJW was in on Crump for a while. Or maybe the two are totally unrelated.

'11 ATH Christian Jones next year. Saban was there the other night at a basketball game talking to him. He's already been offered by Saban.

Hey guys just found out I know someone close to this guy. He's a big-time ATH coming out of Minor next year. I'm supposed to be meeting up with him to work him out some this spring and summer.

Hey guys! I have heard alot of positive vibes out there about this guy. Some think he will redshirt, others believe he will not. What is it about this guy that everybody likes? I am not imposing that he is not a good HIGH SCHOOL player, but what is it about him that makes him stand out as a good college prospect? I am just curious because he sure doesnt have good physical measurables. Insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

He has great potential. His frame is good for adding pounds(6'2 210). He's very fast and closes greatly on the ball. He's extremely athletic. And he's from MINOR. Oh yeah.

LD, he was up here wit his boy for Jr day and the word was that Crump was around 230 lbs right now

yea, he was said to be in the 230 range by Hubbs.

he is a very explosive player imo. hard worker and an overall great kid.

I think he'll turn out to be a good player for us. His film is impressive.

Can't be...

a) He was only a 2*

b) Kiffin and Orgeron didn't recruit him

Therefore, many here will assure us the kid couldn't make a Pop Warner team in LA.

(Please note the sarcasm directed at those who think Kiffin and Orgeron were the only recruiters UT could hope to have)
