'10 AR RB Michael Dyer

I think the ESPN U thing had a little to do with his commitment. I am not saying he wasn't going to end up at Auburn anyway. But I think there may have been some pressure on him since he had this planned before his visit to UT.

The announcement the same day the game was going to be on national TV had to be something Auburn was selling the kid on. You know they wanted to get Dyer and the exposure on a national TV game helps. I am sure before the visit to UT Dyer was all Auburn and I don't think he would have been a hard sell on this. He obviously agreed to do it.

But what makes me feel like we still have a pretty good shot is the Mosely deal. It seems from all the talk of Mosely's dad talking to Orgeron on facebook and the comments he made to the ESPN guys at the game that Dakota's choice is not been made yet. We have heard all along that these two will likely end up together where ever they go. I honestly think that at least Dakota's dad hopes that is UT. Then you think about him saying how great a visit Dyer had at UT and how great a meeting the Dyer's and the Mosely's had with Kiffin.

There are alot of signs that point to something here. Now will Dyer change? Who knows. But I think we have a pretty good shot at least at getting both these kids back here again and if that happens I think we can land them.... JMO....

it was scheduled beforehand..... i think?

Actually his visit to UT was scheduled for the Memphis game, but he bumped it up right after he decided to make an announcement for this past Friday. The rumor was UT wanted him to come in for a visit first before he made his commitment hoping it would change his mind in regards to Auburn, but that didn't happen. Again a rumor but also I believe he said it was a soft verbal. So anything can happen before NSD.

I would also say that 90%+ all recruits say good things about their visit afterwards. Especially when being interviewed by someone who writes for that school. It is not like they are asked questions other then the ones that get the answers they are seeking to get the fans to continue reading what they write. Also every recruit I ever known for the most part always enjoys their visit. I mean an 17/18 yo gets wine and dined and has a female hostess with them the whole time. They are treated like kings when they arrive and everybody is shouting their name. I mean who would not like that.

After Lache S visited Auburn he told everybody there he couldn't wait to help beat all their rivals. Just as other recruits have said the same things after their visits. Just like Lache alot of these kids still haven't commited.

With West out at Memphis. Sports radio 56 (WHBQ) is reporting Malzhan is the #1 canidate.

Also get this ....... Trooper Talyor is a canidate.... Ha!
Football Scoop The Scoop

This could help with Mr. Dyer as well.....

Trooper would be a joke. I'm guessing the AD doesn't want to keep his job if he goes with Trooper.

I agree Taylor isn't a head coach.... But my point is this Dyer thing is far from over. Even if Auburn keeps the coaching staff they have together it isn't over. But if Malzhan leaves you have to think he looks at his options a little harder....

why wouldnt Dyer have liked the Iron Bowl?

to the "video gamer" and casual recruiting watcher, winning games on official visits are the be all,end all.
but in reality, the kids being recruited dont see it that way. the kid was there to be shown around, bond and get clser to potential coaches and teammates. he got to see how he will be used, in a Huge game atmosphere.
witnessing a "W" is secondary.

If I was a runner with Dyer's style, I would not want to play in a gimmick offense. They do not just line up and run the ball ever. He is not going to get prepared for the pro's.

I agree with you but, Dyer's style is a similar style to Ben Tate and tate has somewhere around 1200 yards .
its rare a spread back gets a 1st round gradebut Jonathan Stewart was able to pull it off.

Exactly. Corey Miller and Brandon Willis committed to UT after watching us lose to UCLA. Recruits don't let the outcome of one game affect their decision.

True, but Stewart was like 230 pounds too.

ben tate is a good 225 lbs. and Dyer is like 5'8 210. they are all pretty similar body types
the glaring difference in the 3 was J-Stew had legit 4.4 speed

Ive been thinking that since Michael committed. Its probably the best thing to do. Now he wont leave for sure

Michael Dyer is proclaiming himself as Auburn's number 1 recruiter. He is so War Eagle that we should call that bird cooked. He is claiming to be recruiting lineman for himself and wants to be the go to guy next year.

Dyer joked that he might even be a better recruiter than Trooper Taylor. The Little Rock (Ark.) Christian back already helped the Tigers land a commitment from high school teammate Dakota Mosley.

"I might be the No. 1 recruiter for Auburn," Dyer said. "I'm trying to bring in some big linemen - 6-6, 6-7 - I'm trying to get them on board so we can open up some holes and run."

So who's No. 1 on his list? Offensive lineman James Stone, who made an unofficial visit this weekend.
