10 Best Knoxville Dining Experiences.

Eh, I'm over the allure of a filet, although there is a great filet at some restaurant in Nashville (Cool Springs) that does a Coffee smoked/rubbed filet that was awesome.

I'm now hardcore into Ribeyes from Ruth's Chris...

:yuck:

For a college student, what are some of the better cheap restaurants downtown? It's about a 1.5-2 mile walk for me, which I have no problem with.

Downtown Grill and Brewery is hard to beat. Reasonable priced micro brew pints, a lot of appetizers and sandwiches. Their loaded potato skins can feed two reasonably sized people.

1. Nama(Gay Street Location). Big city quality sushi at Knoxville prices.
2. Savelli's. Quaint, cozy restaurant with magnificent Italian fare.
3. Chandler's. Simply the best soul food restaurant in the state of Tennessee.
4. The Bistro at the Bijou. Underrated and overlooked gem with the best special board in Knoxville.
5. Ye Olde Steakhouse. Every bit as good as the hype.
6. Bayou Bay. Authentic cajun cusine served by the nicest staff in Knoxville.
7. Patrick Sullivan's. The best prime rib in Knoxville.
8. Harby's Pizza. The best pie in town.
9. Pete's Coffee Shop. The only place to have breakfast downtown.
10. Copper Cellar(Either Location). Always consistent and classy.

OK I must disagree.....Best Steakhouse if you want a great dinner and do not mind paying a little bit more is Ruth's Chris....blows Ye Olde Steakhouse away when it comes to tender steaks....I have had both and favor the butter oven cooked steaks that are consistently fixed the right way if you want medium rare it is medium rare...
I have been to Ye Olde Steakhouse many times and it is not as consistent...yeah Ruth's Chris' is more money but I am willing to pay when I get consistent results.

Dan's Pasta!

My senior year at UT, I lived down the street and would get this all the time - lunch and dinner. So good. Needless to say it wasn't so good for my waistline.

You've actually received your food from Sapphire before? I've waited with my wife for 2 hours and still not received our entrees. Stick to drinking at that place; the service (kitchen staff, not wait staff) is terrible and unabashedly so.
