10 Best Knoxville Dining Experiences.

read it, and I would have had the azz if I had to wait an hour on a burger
Really? If you are going to a place that is in start up phase as a quasi dive bar and you're concerned with how quick you get your burger, get your happy ass up and go to Wendy's.

i only like the frosty's at wendy's

did you read the blog, or are you just popping off

other folks were getting thier food, and the group waited an hour on burgers

I like Nicelys. I like the attitude and that's why I go. When I said put him on his place I meant Karl, the pansy. It's all about good food, beer, hot coeds, and a place to gang out with friends and relax. If Knoxville can't handle that then we suck

So? Who cares? If you are in a hurry, go to Krystal.

give it up, under no circumstances should it take an hour to get a burger

if the owner's as hot schitt as he thinks he is, he should have had a couple of nights of opening parties, to get things ironed out

and make sure he was staffed properly to open

I'd probably hit a krystals up after closing a dive like Nicely's down

nobody should have to wait an hour for their food at any restaurant in Knoxville, ever.

longer ticket times should be expected at a new joint, though. i see both sides and they're each being douchebags.

I can personally vouch for Savelli's; it's a hole in the wall but you'll be glad you went. Best Italian food I've had in a while, and best bruschetta I've had ever.

The menu is very small. No full bar. But a pretty good burger and Nicely is around to give the staff hell so all is good. All bottle beers at this point but I am guessing you could bring your own booze and no one would care. Some of the ladies that work there are very easy on the eyes.

I am not going to link it but go to google and put in Nicely's tavern. Evidently, some tightwad got his panties ruffled by Kevin Nicely and he got put in his place. Then went home and blogged about it and got rolled again. All his buddies came to his defense but you don't want to pick a fight with the bull. Especially when you are a chicken little. Good read and insight into Kevin Nicely and what to expect. If you want your butt kissed and kind words, go somewhere else.

Never Go to Nicely's Tavern in Knoxville

THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT.

Uhh... no.

An hour is a long time for 5 burgers, but at least it is somewhat refreshing to see a manager actually stand up to a customer and take a chance on just loosing their business.

Nothing compares to Gus's. Food OR experience. Gerald is a great guy. Watch the drunk tax though.

Always tasted like generic deli food to me. Best thing they ever had was a bathroom on my walk home from the fort.

It does but when it's 3:30 am it's the best damn generic deli food around.

Gus's is one of the places anyone that has went to school at UTK has a story about, be it good or bad.

if you didn't eat there I'm not sure you can get your diploma from UT. Just one of those things you do.

can't remember his old delivery guy's name but he was a trip. He'd give you your food then ask if you had any weed

Somehow, at 3:30 in the morning, I always managed to forget that the fried mushrooms were actually filled with lava. Whether I remembered the trip or not, always knew I stopped by Gus's if the roof of my mouth was so burnt that it felt like I took a cheese grater to it.

I know that feeling

Louis' on Old Broadway off 640 is great!
I ate Peerless in Johnson City and its a pretty good steak, and now they have one out west on Kingston Pike I think, although I have never eaten at that location.

Just my 2 cents

I've been to Peerless twice, both on drug rep money, and it sucked both times. There are about 10 places in Knoxville I'd go for steak before Peerless.

Without a doubt one of the worst chain steak houses ever.

the Flemings in Nashville is great. A lot better than the one in Knoxville for some reason

I wouldn't eat at Peerless for free. That place is named right; for a crappy overpriced meal, they are without peer.
