Wright > Riggs by a lot.

Met Riggs on his official last month. 5'8 is pushing it for the kid. I dont see how he doesn't struggle big-time in the SEC trying to cover WR's. Wright on the other hand is much bigger and much better built. JMO.

The direct quote from Wright said that we are recruiting him as a corner, not a safety. Our depth chart and his (supposed) natural skill position would agree w/ that. I know Rivals lists him as a safety but if he's being recruited as a corner than that's where we'll likely put him.

I think Cody Riggs, Lamarcus Joyner and Wright are our top targets at CB. I'm sure we're still after Joshua Shaw, Terrance Mitchell, Christian Bryant & Victor Hampton, as well.

Our safety prospects seem to be Reilly, Keenan Allen, Matt Elam, Corey Cooper, Demar Dorsey and maybe Sean Parker.

I suspect we'll try to take at least one CB and safety in this class, and if we could pull a rabbit out of our hat like Allen (not holding my breath) than we'd take two (Allen & Reilly, for example). This is all speculation, I might add.

I would love to turn Joyner from FSU like we did Corey Miller, but I would be ecstatic with Wright as our CB and Riley as our safety. Then Janzen Jackson would move to CB and our secondary would be Riley and Myles Jr at safety and Wright and J Jackson at corner...WOW.

It sounds crazy to say we could be fine without Elam, but I am going to say that with that secondary we would be fine without Elam...

Everybody talks about this kids height, but I don't think it's that big of an issue. pacman jones is no taller than riggs and outside of the game where anquan boldin owned him his rookie year he was a great cover corner in the nfl before he got suspended.

I don't know if moving JJ to corner would be a good idea. Think he sticks with safety b/c he has proved to be a headhunter and he'll have all the coverages down pat by the end of the year. Don't forget about that corner we got from Ohio is supposed to be really good and art evans is looking good too.

IMO I think Eric Gordon could be good also.

Thanks dude. FWIW, I've been a fan of the two cali CBs for quite awhile. I think Wright and Shaw are the two best options we have at corner. I am intrigued by Nickell Robey, as well. Joyner is a game-changer (more so as a return man, IMO) but I don't think he's considering us any more. My fantasy draft pick is Wright. And, luckily, I think it's a realistic draft pick too. I don't see Shaw coming here. Maybe OSU. I'm crossing my fingers that Shaw doesn't go to UF along w/ Riley like ESPN is speculating (leave it to ESPN to say something as unlikely as that about the Gators). Florida has done a helluva a job recruiting secondary players this year, despite a stacked roster.

This is why i say no way the gators land Shaw and Riley....that would put them with Watkins, Elam, Dorsey, and Haden for '10 class....along with Finley and Hill from last year.

No way they move JJ to corner. He is a future All-American at Safety.

They have good young talent at Corner on the roster.

I would never compare a high school senior to an NFL player no matter how high he is rated.

Secondly, if all these schools where foaming at the mouth for Riggs he'd already be committed to Florida, Georgia or ND. He tried to commit to all 3 schools and they all didn't accept his commitment.

I'm just not high on the guy like some others.

I agree, JJ is a stud at safety as a frosh and will only get better with time. He has made some frosh mistakes but he has also made some awesome plays as well.

Oh, i wouldn't either...i'm just saying that players have been successful at a higher level at his height, in his position.

You could be right about Riggs and I could be dead wrong. He just didn't pass the look test for me. Not only was he very short but he didn't look like he had a college football players build. On the other hand Demetrius Wright was one of the most impressive DB's (from a physical standpoint) that I've seen on a visit to Tennessee.

he was just proving that height isn't always a reason that someone won't be successful because others have been at small heights.

Yea i'd prefer Wright myself...just don't think Riggs is gonna be a bust by any means.
