'10 CA CB Demetrius Wright

From what I've heard, he's not happy he's being redshirted and he's not exactly giving 100% effort in the weight room or practice.

O ok, from what i've heard from the people I know is that the coaches are completely fed up with Brent Vinson and are just looking for a reason to make an example of out him. He's def in the 5% too

Yes Vinson definitely is in that 5%. He's never been mature. The sad thing is the guy is an athletic freak and has NFL ability, but he doesn't have the brain, the attitude or the work ethic to ever get there.

Who else is in the 5%? I was thinking maybe Rogan and Jones but idk

I think you're right on both accounts.

I think Brandon Warren getting dismissed was a huge wakeup call, especially for Jones. I think he's one who was in the 5% that really woke up the minute Warren was given the boot.

I fully expect the staff to get rid of a few more guys between now and spring that still haven't bought in. Vinson is definitely the one that jumps out right away.

These coaches dont F*** around. If you are causing dissention or hurting the team with your attitude then they will get rid of you. A huge breath of fresh-air to the 'anything goes' philosophy that I feel the previous staff was operating under. It's no wonder there was no discipline on the field the last few years...it goes right along with the lack of it off the field.

I love Dennis Rogan this year. You can tell a huge difference when he isn't on the field. I did hear he was in that 5% though...

Rogan has re-shaped his body again to where it was as a true freshman.

The last staff failed miserably with both him and Gerald Jones from their freshman to sophomore years. They allowed both of them to balloon up and lose their best assets, their speed and quickness.

Funny both guys are or were in that 5%, yet this staff is the absolute best thing that could have possibly happened to either of them or their careers would have fizzled to nothing.

Knowing what I do about Gordon from his days at Hillsboro according to his friends, this doesn't surprise me in the least.

I dont think he has. Unless the secondary is inundated with a bunch of injuries I dont expect he'll get any from here on out.

vinson played against mighty ohio and got beat like a red headed stepchild all night. furthermore his status on fb monday he was whining about not getting playing time and saying the coaches had something personal against him. then someone commented and told him if he would have played better when he was in there maybe he would get to see the field more. i support our players, but put this me stuff aside and be a team player.

I agree with everything you said. Vinson is on a very short leash. If I had to predict the next player to be given the boot, it is him. This staff went above and beyond for him all off-season and he remains the same immature, lazy player as he was before. This is all just my opinon of course, but I think a lot of others close to the program feel the exact same way about him.

You think Rogan might move back to SS, and let Edwards slide into the other corner spot next year?

Good question. I'm really not sure. I would think it is a possibility depending on how some of the other safeties develop. Right now I would probably lean more towards a Myles/Jackson safety duo and a Rogan/Evans corner duo. But it is still up in the air.

Don't forget Waggoner to push for the SS spot next year. He was playing pretty solid all spring with EB out. I really like the kid and he hits like a ton of bricks too.

I figured it would come down to who they liked more, Edwards at corner or Myles at Safety.

Unless I've just missed him, I've seen Myles on the field a lot more that Waggner.

Yeah, I think he has played more, but I wouldn't expect Waggoner to just give it to him. There will definitely be some good secondary battles in the spring. It's a good problem to have.

Finally! Someone other than me showing love to Prentiss! He played like a man among boys in the spring and then nothing! Now if we could just see him on field...
