I liked Dre Kirkpatrick's announcement, real classy.

Will probably be flamed, but with orange glasses both on and off, this guy should be a Tennessee Volunteer. Maybe they're on more than I think they are, but I'm to the point where I don't care about being a homer for a few minutes. Bryce Brown was a fantastic surprise, but I honestly don't think many people here worry much about us recruiting good solid running backs with our lineage. We are going to really love Bryce, but we would've been okay even if he didn't come. Right now at least, there is no light on the other side of the tunnel at the QB position. It's extremely dim.
If he signs with the USC Trojans, the chances of him playing collegiate football is minimal.
If he signs with the Florida Gators, I'll just be sick to my stomach.
If he signs with Tennessee, he quickly becomes nearly as important as Ed Orgeron, Eddie Gran, Frank Wilson, or anyone else in that staff meeting room to the future of the 2010 recruiting class. His chance to play collegiate football is much, much higher. His father can still watch him play on television, screaming at the TV as his son becomes intangled in the actual gameplay of SEC Football games week after week. Maybe he can even come see him play 1-2 times a year. And in no way is this an indictment of Jesse's ability, but playing QB at the University of Southern California seems nearly as political as it is a skilled competition. His dad could visit all 20+ home games in his son's time at the school and never once see him throw a pass, never once watch him run out onto the field with 10 other guys in a meaningful game situation.
It just makes too much sense.

Setting: SEC Media Days
Urban Meyer: Thanks for having us here. We are really excited about our team this year, about the seniority, about our leadership. We have some great quality guys here at the University of Florida (everyone in the room chuckles). This off-season we have really been hitting the recruiting trail. We are excited about some of the new players that will be coming in and helping us this next year. We have a great QB and Heisman Trophy winner in Tim Te....
Rece Davis: We are going to interupt this broadcast to take you immediately to the announcement of Espn 150 QB Jesse Scroggins from Lakewood, CA...
Jesse: It has been a difficult decision...Blah Blah Blah Blah (20 minutes of Blah)...I'm a !
Rece Davis: Ok! Good news for the Vols and for head coach Lane Kiffin. It looks as if Tennessee has their man! Now let's go back to Urban Meyer at SEC Media Days...
Urban Meyer: So that's about it. It was good to meet with you, thanks for your questions, and we look forward to this year.
From Jesse's myspace.com:
Yesterday all the news was he was expected to pick USC. Are we back in it now? Or has UF stolen the show? The gators are the FIRST school logo on his site followed by UT, then USC. What "changed" for you Jesse? The school you selected or the time of the annoucement? Both?
