I don't think he could say "We got a very good QB today"

I do think he could say "We got a QB today".

You can't comment at all on their ability or speak about them by name. I think.

anyone got the myles annoucement video?

See the announcement here.

Myles signs with Vols, wants to be part of that 'rebuilding' at UT GoVolsXtra

Just so you know i dont even have a myspace i just went there and looked him up. But heres what it says. And i dont know why he didnt put espn after on.

He can't even say "we just got a verbal commitment from a very good player today.." or something like that?
No. He can't.

He can't do either technically. He may get away with the latter, but it does refer to a specific recruit so it should be against the rules by the letter of the law.

13.10.2 Comments Before Signing.

Before the signing of a prospective student-athlete to a National Letter of Intent or an institution's written offer of admission and/or financial aid, a member institution may comment publicly only to the extent of confirming its recruitment of the prospective student-athlete. The institution may not comment generally about the prospective student-athlete's ability or the contribution that the prospective student-athlete might make to the institution's team; further, the institution is precluded from commenting in any manner as to the likelihood of the prospective student-athlete's signing with that institution. Violations of this bylaw do not affect a prospective student-athlete's eligibility and are considered institutional violations per Constitution 2.8.1. (Revised: 1/14/97)

that last part clearly states that you cannot announce commitments whether you mention the name or not.

I think his myspace status is very good news for Vol fans. In the best light it means that he's not going to USC even though most say he will. That means he's probably a Vol lean. We just gotta wait until Thursday to find out. :zeitung_lesen: I hate waiting... :ermm:

I have a feeling for the fist time in a very long time that he may very well be a Vol.

Per Myspace

Why in the world would he announce publicly on ESPN to USC or FL ? They could care less if he announced to the public bigtime. They don't need the exposure, like UT does right now. And his Myspace, says "just because people are saying he is going somewhere, doesnt mean anything. We may have a bigger chance than people acually think.

He can't hold a presser for or even mention Scroggins until he signs somewhere in Feb if that is what you are suggesting.

I took it to mean more that he would get to listen to JS commit on Thursday and then our coach's press conference on Friday (at SEC media days), which would be a good end to the week. He didn't explicitly (or implicitly) relate the two.

When Eric mentioned that his pc was moved to Thursday which was also around Florida's media time, why did everyone assume that meant he would go there. If anything, I think that would be a calculated move to further steal attention away from Florida's media day.

That would be awesome, if he did that.

Conspiracies are what kill us here at Volnation. Haha.

Why? JS has made it known he wants to be in a pro style offense. They are prepared for life w/o Tebow. Infact they signed Jordan Reed last year.

But, in JS's own words "what people don't understand about [them] is that [they] have played pro-style before when it was best for them, they play the way they do now for Tebow, but they were more pro-style for Leak"

(I'm sure I got that a bit wrong, but it's close)

So, you see 66, we just don't understand....

I saw that and I'm not saying it isn't true but media reports as late as this evening are still saying tomorrow.

Jesse has gotten dates mixed up before. He is over his head. And Bailey said he lives in his own world. We will just have to wait and see.

He stated something changed, but didn't specify if he meant date and time or just the time. My guess is that Thursday at 3 is correct, but we'll see....

Sorry Jesse but the only time they were pro style for Leak was when Ron Zook was there...Check the tapes of Urbans first year at UF and you'll see.

It's obviously a young man's prerogative to play where he wants to play, but you just don't want to see them be lied to when trying to make their decision on where to 'give their all.'
