Doesn't that comment become even more relevant after his announcement (when he has said where he is going)?

I agree with you on it not being relevant right now. BUT he also could have said it so ppl would watch espn to see where he picks... I was just throwing it out there.

I don't think so. It would be out by now.

They probably did background stuff for a story to go with the announcement. It could be that his mom (she's got TN blood as I understand it) wore SC and his dad wore TN stuff to show they're going to support whatever he decides.

Still, the SC mod?? Does he know or has he been duped?

I would almost guarantee that he checks these boards. He's just building hype. If I was a recruit with any intelligence I would do some research on the fanbase. If he reads this, he's learned that the SEC and UT are a little different from the rest of the country. Maybe he likes it, maybe he doesn't.

Maybe he feels as though he is better than the rest of the QBs at USC right now. I mean they aren't proven players yet. Mustain has the most playing time out of all of them and he sucks. If these QB's don't play to their potential this year than his decision to come to USC will be bigger than people imagined.
All this guy cares about is having his family around him and able to watch him. He has to know that he will be redshirted at USC. This is a dream come true to him to even go to USC.

Can anyone imagine this scenario?

So, we heard reports of Scroggins wearing a UT cap at camp, and hugging the coaches. What if Jesse committed then, silently, and Lane told him to go along with it like he was going to USC. What if Jesse was bitter that USC hadn't offered him, and had already decided that he wanted to go to Tennessee. Kiffin told Jesse to hold off on announcing until the 25th, right after SEC Media Days, go to USC's camp, do as many things as possible to get people to think he was USC. This would explain his mom's shirt, certain comments, etc.

But then, he changed the date to the day of SEC Media Day to not only steal USC's thunder, but also to steal away a Florida prospect while Kiffin watched and laughed in Meyer's face. This would get Tennessee a lot of media attention and would change the attitude of the press going in, knowing that Tennessee had signed at least one major quarterback.

So tomorrow, Jesse shocks everyone by putting on a Vol cap, and Kiffin and Co. shove it in CUM's face. This will make all of the confusion, the buildup, and the attention from all over the country worth it, because it will all point back to the University of Tennessee and the genius of Lane Kiffin.

I so hope I'm right.

I think we would have heard by now if that was the case. Plus it would make Jesse, his dad and his coach a bunch of flat-out liars, and I don't think they would do that. Could be wrong, though...

Its just like Chase Rettig,Brent Hubbs said that when he talked to him Chase said that he checked out these boards all the time.

Jesse is a rising senior from Lakewood High School, 20 minutes from USC. He is ranked according to Rivals as a 4 star, and as of yesterday, the number 3 quarterback in the Rivals 250. He has been highly recruited by basically every major program, and has brought it down to USC, UF, and us. He has taken visits to all of these, and attended camps as well, winning MVP honors at ours and USC's, and probably UF's.

His mother's family is in Memphis, which he keeps mentioning. He has said he doesn't mind the competition of USC's depth chart. Urban Meyer has told him that he plans on changing to a more "Pro-Style" Offense.

When interviewed, he glowed about UT, and the way that the fans painted the rock, and how he loved the coaches. It was also reported that at the camp, he was seen wearing a UT hat, and hugging the coaches.

However, since that time, he has attended USC's camp, received the dream offer from the Trojans. Though after our camp, he seemed a bit bitter that USC waited to offer so long, especially since he was in their backyard.

He has been at the Nike 7 on 7, and now is at the Elite 11, as well as other camps. He is basically the only one of the top quarterbacks for the class of 2010 that is not committed.

His father loves USC and would love to see him play there. However, Jesse has stated that distance is not a factor. He has mentioned that he wants to announce publicly to help the school out in recruiting. It's been thought that Florida is out of the picture and that the only two contenders are UT and USC.

He will be announcing today, but according to Scout, it will be a hidden taping, and the announcement will be made tomorrow on-air on ESPN at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. This was moved from the original July 25th date that was given.

While some speculate he is all USC, his myspace page (yes, we're going to myspace now) says "I may not be going where everyone thinks I am". He did not commit last week with his teammate and close friend Dion Bailey to USC last week, which makes some think that perhaps he could be going elsewhere.

Tomorrow is one of the SEC Media Days and would bring great attention to one of the SEC schools (UT of UF) If he was to pick them. Some speculate that since he said he wanted to help out the team he picks recruiting, that it leans in UT's favor, since USC or UF don't need help recruiting.

Either way, to sum it up, a really good quarterback has confused the life out of people, enjoyed the spotlight, created a 10,000+ thread on VN, and has given us NOTHING as to guess where he is really going.

Tomorrow at 3:00 on ESPN will be the deciding day, at least for now.

True. He may prefer wine and cheese fans who don't really care so much about the game, but enjoy taking in the atmosphere and social intercourse that accompanies it. :p

usc players families seem to "magically" come up with plane tickets when needed. bush is not the only example of this.

in my experience you will rarely find a recruit of that caliber who doesnt' think he is better than everyone else and carroll certainly doesn't tell them differently. this is how sc can sign 4 5* rbs every year.

I think the scenario situation might be a bit much. I think he is just trying to make the right decision, which is obviously UT.

If there's a ploy, I think they're in it together.

In fact, one of the things that makes me feel that way is that UF is the third team. That never made any sense whatsoever, yet Hubbs was saying they were in the final two for a long time. Hubbs would be an equivalent on the UT side (insider info) to the mod you mentioned.

I can see Kiffin doing this and it seems like Pete likes to have a little fun too.

JS could announce UF tomorrow--and if he does, this definitely is not over until NSD or later.
