Someone on VQ posted and said he saw Coach Cregg and Monte at Texas Roadhouse last night and Cregg said they weren't sure on Scroggins but to not worry because they have a surprise coming...

do you realize that if you're lying, you will meet Eric Berry going across the middle

That's a good line. It's as vague as could be. Big surprise: Jeff Luc, a big season, Laimason, free beer on the house, etc... If I were a coach I would use it all the time, and I'm sure they do!

FWIW i've been listening to the zone 104.5 in nashvegas and I haven't heard a word about Scroggo...all baseball so far.

I'm not so sure the surprise they're referring to isn't Lamaison...of course, that wouldn't be a surprise to any of us.

Here's the thing that gets me. Scroggins' teammate/friend committs to USC last week, so why wouln't he announce with him if he is supposely going to USC as well. Plus Rettig already committed to BC. Maybe Rettig and Scroggins talked about their future. I mean it would take a retard to weigh in on BC vs TN, despite BC finishing 2nd in the ACC the past two years. Surely to goodness Rettig would have committed to TN if he knew that Scroggins wasn't coming.

i know everyone is like, "shut up guys, dont worry, its July not February" bla bla bla but my biggest concern for losing JS is the imediate implications it will have on recruiting. personally, id like to bag milton next week and ambles before the summer is over. that may not be entirely realistic, but having Scroggins commit compared to 1) no QB at all, or 2) a JuCo QB will certainly give us the edge in that department. it would also help us in our chances with Cobbs and half a dozen linemen. i know we can "wait" until the season is over but i fear that by losing Scroggins we've lost at least 1 or 2 recruits that will sign elsewhere and stay there. just MO.

I honestly believe that if we lose out on Scroggins, the staff focus' on Hendrix. Hendrix really like UT, but we waited to offer the scholorship. Yes he goes to a catholic school which makes the ND choice more obvious, as well as Moeller always sending kids out to ND, but since then, Notre Dame got another QB commit and may make Hendrix waver, thus giving us a better chance at landing him. Only time will tell.

I agree, and have been worried about the same thing :ermm:

i like Bray.. and he is easier to get.

That was just my guess as to who the staff would go after. It will be obvious that they will attack the JUCO route and look for wavering commits to other schools. It should be very interesting to see playout.

Look... Bray is looking like he is the top QB at the Elite 11.... and he has committed already... but to SDSU, and has said he will not turn away other suitors... He has won the accuracy drills two days in a row, and will come out as the top QB at the EA Elite 11.

What is the point in committing so early to a program like San Diego State?

Dont ask me.. he committed on July 5th? He said he liked them cause....

"I fit in a pro-style offense," he said. "That's why I committed to San Diego State, because they run an offense that can get you to the next level." Bray says that while his commitment to the Aztecs is firm, he won't turn away any new suitors that are interested in him.
