True. I'm sure their belief and one of the pitches that landed them was that they would get a quarterback in the next class though. Two classes without a legit incoming freshman is bad mojo. Lamaison and Rozier aren't going to help get it done on the recruiting trail.

Thank you Lulu. Yeah, until I see the footage of him saying "I'm committing to the University of Southern California" then I won't believe anyone. Nobody was in that room, nobody is him. So, i don't believe anyone right now.

I just wanna wait and see. I know that USC will probably get him. But nobody is 100% because to the general public, it hasn't been made 100% official. Once it has....i'll start talking about stealing him from USC.

But Scroggins or no Scroggins, I still got faith in my staff. Go Vols! :rock:

i heard hooker say it, don't have any reason not to believe it, but how is hooker (in TN) priviledged to such information?? and how did it get out? why set an annouce time and date if it's no big deal just to tell someone who lets the rest of the country know...even tho i can't find anything to back it up but hooker's reference on the internet? where's al gore? maybe i'm not using the internets right :p

is this in and of itself the surprise? everyone is so certain now that it is SC, but we see at 3:00 that it's TN????

I do too but it sucks knowing that all of the top quarterbacks are committed elsewhere for the time being. Not a morale booster. :no:

I will agree with you that it shouldn't make it okay and that we should have more respect for a kids decision. I've never wished anything bad upon him. I just haven't wish anything good for him either. Could be worse.

I wasn't referring to people not wanting to wish him luck...I was referring to those calling him names, wishing him bad luck, etc. You misunderstood what I was talking about. I never said you or anybody elses name.

Aah. Alright. Either way, if people want to call him names and wish him bad lucky, I doubt you will change their minds. Maybe you will but most people are going to do what they want. I don't understand flat out insulting him or wishing him bad luck either. If he ends up at USC, I just don't really care how his career pans out. I am not a fan of USC. In fact, I don't even like USC and tend to cheer against them. I might have wished him luck if he ended up on a team that I don't dislike. Him going to USC is just whatever to me. Good for him. :p

I think the big mistake in it getting out was the fact that they recorded it versus doing it live. There were plenty of people there yesterday and word spread fast what took place at the taping. It was not Jesse in a room with just a camera and a microphone.

To be honest, I thought the whole thing is a bit over the top and that fact that it was taped yesterday made it pretty easy for word to spread.

Or you can tune in at 12:30 PST and see it for yourself as well.

I am outta here for a bit. I will let it cool down a bit and will return later today after people walk back from off the ledge. :crazy:

yes, no ones committed NOW. so we may get JS in the end or Rees or Rettig or whoever to decommit. what matters most is the recruiting we have between now and NSD. i would say you can kiss Cobbs goodbye if we dont have a legit QB by September. i would say Ambles is still a shot but id say he has one foot out the door. milton should still come our way but can we hold him without a QB until NSD? who knows about the linemen, but i think we are still in it for Stone, at least for now...

You guys are making it out like Hooker is the only who has heard anything from a source this morning. Hubbs and Bryant are both saying that they are being told by sources today that Scroggins is going to commit to USC...

for those of you that think we have a shot....

FIrst of all, Scroggins is going to Southern Cal as we indicated last night on the board. I didn't write a front page story on it because I don't have anyone I can quote to say that an dthe kid obviously wants his moment in the sun, but he has told Tennessee he is going to Southern Cal.

Only partially true. JS could end up being a good QB. I just think they wanted him more for the recruits. It's not that they didn't want him as a QB (though I personally hoped that we would recruit over him next year....now we REALLY need to do that :) ).

hubbs? it's not on volquest. or is it the three of them down there talking about it. and is this espn's first time doing a broadcast? do they not know how to close a door? if this is a "big announcement", are they uncertain how to keep the wrong people out of the room? just hope they are never involved with national security ;p
all i'm sayin is i don't understand how our guys from TN are the only ones that know about this. is there another source on the web? and who was hooker's source? do they have it posted on a site somewhere???

ESPN obviously knows that Scroggins chose USC since they already have the tape. However, since they're airing the announcement it wouldn't make since for them to report it.
