There were 3 guys who were saying they had info on the rumor. 1 of them wouldn't say who it was, but he did say it wasn't Lamaison, Brunetti, Bray, Scroggins, or Rees. The other 2 said it was Phillip Sims...

1) Sims has already denied any interest in UT, and has always said he is solid to Bama.

2) He's never even mentioned the possibility of talking to any other schools, and has been actively recruiting other top prospects to Bama for a long time.

3) The Kiffin staff never offered Sims even before he committed to Bama. There is no evidence that UT has shown any significant interest in him since Fulmer was still head coach.

Conclusion: If the rumor is true (which I'm starting to doubt), there is no way that it could be Sims.

I agree. Rumor unlikely... (Not a Kiffin thing), and it wouldn't be Sims.

Scroggins would have brought a big boost to our recruiting. I think we would have seen a few quality Linemen and WR's added earley to the 2010 class. One thing we all need to ease our minds is a top QB and alot of these are committed else where. Just as CLK has said and shown in the 09 class is that they will continue to recruit to National Signing Day.

I don't know about a big fish on the hook or who has softened their verbal commitments but I know it isn't over till NSD. We pulled in a few suprises that day and a month later with BB. With all this said I still can't believe that one of this kids havn't thought " I can go to one of the top programs in the nation, Play in front of over 100,000 insane fans, Start as a true Freshman, and be known as the QB that turned it around".

He talks about how he made the decision weeks before the announcement.

How he called urban meyer and kiffin and left a message with both, but only urban called him back.

He also mentioned how UT only went after his cousin cause they wanted JS

As I stated before, it was all over the top IMHO

it could be a misinformed rumor... I don't think we are making any sort of push for a commitment at this point in time from anyone.. trying to get ready for practice and the season.

Not saying we aren't continuing to call kids weekly because we are but a push is asking kids to come see us which is hard at this time. Most kids getting ready for high school practice as we are getting ready for practice.

Congrats on getting Scroggins.

You've been a classy poster here. We talk about SC football here some and hope you'll stick around as there are other common interests besides Scroggins. Also, hope you'll reconsider Coaches Kiffin and O's contributions to your program.

Pete seems to feel they helped when they were there. And, by most accounts in Knoxville, they maintain good relationships. I don't think they'll even bother trying to convince Scroggins to change his mind. Frankly, he's not good enough for them to risk the relationships they have with CPC, imo.

In all honesty we all should have given up when he earned the scholly from SC. Thats what he wanted and he got it after that he knew it was all over and thats where he was going. As for me ill personally tune into all SC games just to see if I can get a glimpse of him sitting the bench.

No doubt! I love Coach O as he is and was the man... I would rather have mrs. Kiffin then Mr. :victory:

Check out this video. I think these newscasters got Scroggins to thinking about his decision regardless of what came out of his mouth. The fact that they mentioned the other quarterbacks ahead of him and that he may only play 1 year I think screwed with his head. His Myspace page says "he's bummed". Wonder if this interview has anything to do with that. Poor Poor Jessie...:rock:

At this point, I don't want him at UT. I'm just hoping he's sitting in California wishing he had committed to Big Orange instead of Southern Cal. He made all of us miserable wondering what his decision was going to be, now maybe he feels what we felt for so long. :birgits_giggle:
