'10 CA QB Tyler Bray (Commit/On Campus)

Every kid loves the small schools that are on them early....until they see the facilities an elite program has to offer.

If the UT coaches get him to visit campus, he'll probably forget that SDSU exists.
i certainly hope so...

we have already lost one to boston college...a kid from California no less...

I think the only reason he committed to SDSU in the first place is because he was afraid that he wouldn't get any better offers, and wanted to jump on board in case they took somebody else and he would be left with nothing. I'll be shocked if he sticks with them now that he has a UT offer, even if he doesn't end up at UT.

Boston College has a lot more to offer a QB than SDSU does. There are two current starting QBs in the NFL who went there.

I just can't get excited about the kid, not matter what he does in camps...they don't have DE's, with freakish size/speed bearing down on him like you'd see in the SEC.
Give me a prospect who can outrun a 320lb DL, please :)

So you'd rather have a QB that can run then one that can throw well?

I'll take the guy that stands tall in the pocket and delivers a strike downfield before the end gets to him. If he's running from DEs enough to make that one of his primary attributes, we've already lost because of the O line.

Two words for you...
1) Tee
2) Martin

While I'm at it...I got 2 more
1) National
2) Championship

What did you say you wanted again?...I got distracted thinking about that Fiesta Bowl...the long ball to Peerless Price...you know, a mobile QB stood tall in the pocket and threw that. :)

And when he threw that pass...

Did you care what his 40 time was?

I'm not saying we should avoid every QB that can run (I actually like Brunetti). I'm just saying that the ability to run is less important in our scheme than the ability to find and hit receivers with a good arm. If Bray has the potential to have that arm (I think he does), the height to see over the line (6'6), and good enough field awareness (jury's still out on this one), then he's worth taking regardless of his running ability.

You know as well as I do that there are PLENTY of guys who can do BOTH...not one or the other.

Why waste your time asking a question like that?

It's a hard thing to do. If i had a guy that could throw a good ball but couldn't run all that well, i'd still take him over a guy who could run but wasn't a great passer.

So...you're point is?

He bailed us out with his feet MANY a time...what was your question again?

If mobility is so important to the success of a pro-style QB, we might as well sign Munchie Legaux. Tee made many more big plays with his arm than he did with his legs.

everyone is takeing the 40 to seriously... think about what a 40 time is.... it is a straight run for 40 yards. that is so worthless with a qb. It is vision and field presence, taking a step up or out of the pocket is the main key while know whats around you. Brunetti, has a rather slow 40... but he is the top "dual threat" QB.

Do you guys just like to argue or something?
Many of the TOP passers are pretty mobile guys. They do not have to have lead feet in order to have a live arm. THAT is my point...and there's no sense in arguing with you two street posts over a mute point

moot point....not mute

Not trying to be a jerk, but I thought you might like to know that.

Also, I'm just arguing because I'm bored and I think Bray would make a good future UT QB. Nothing against your views, but I'll take immobile QB over a mobile one that doesn't currently exist on our board.
