Just the way it works out sometimes, A lot of the QB's were going after in the 2011 class are down south or closer to us than Cali.

If you click "pics" on that myspace profile, they are of the QB recruit. This is the same Tyler Bray that we're after.
Have you read his quote? It does appear that he might be a smelly d-bag.
Still, if he can win football games for us (which I think he can), I'll be fine.

After looking at some film and reading plenty of evaluations, Bray seems like a solid sleeper prospect like so many posters on VN referred to. He really does appear to resemble Ainge’s game. He does NOT seem to be very mobile or have the strongest arm, but he does have tremendous accuracy (which is most important IMO). He is also supposed to have great decision making and ability to work through his progressions, which is also great to hear. If Kiffin wanted a pocket passer, then Bray seems to be his man. He obviously needs to get some serious weight on him, but if he can perform with the best of the high profile QBs in the country now, I’m excited to see what he can do in a couple years after he fills out and continues to develop. His name has gotten out there a bit through the camps he has attended so he may help pull some offensive recruits, but more than a good diplomat we need a solid QB for the future. Right now I like what I see. In other words, I’m sold. Go get him coaches!

Since Bray will need a year or two to develop, that begs the question What is UT going to do in the meantime? We need a starter for 2010 and 2011. LaMaison? Some other JUCO? Thoughts?

isnt bray committed to sds. sounds like he loves it there. i really don't see this kid in orange next year.

Unless he duplicated the same things, the "pimp and atheist" comments were on the black kid's profile. Kid's acting silly on MySpace isn't uncommon though.

He will need to grow up though before dealing with pressure and being under a constant microscope like Crompton et al have dealt with.

Only one reason he would turn down Tennessee for SDS, and that's to party. And if that's what is more important than football to him I don't think our coaching staff wants him.

Also, it's probably been discussed to death, but I'm digging the fact he's got Peyton as his myspace background.

I will be astonished if this kid doesn't play for a BCS school. SDSU isn't even the SDSU of old. They're 9-27 over the past 3 years and have become the doormat of the MWC.

He'll get more attractive offers and will take one of them. Maybe UT but is sounds like there's a lot of ground to make up.

I've coached 2 kids in the last 2 years that can top a 56 consistently. They're brothers, and the younger one is about 5'4. Still, thats faster than a 5.4 40. I'd say he comes in around 5.0-5.2.

Sidenote: After watching that again, I'm skeptical. Thats a horrid track and it looks as if someone just grabbed a couple practice jerseys and threw on those kids. It may be some random JR High track meet...who knows.

IIRC on the description of the video it says its in Middle School. So 8th grade at the heighest

Dave hooker on the animal just blew off someone that said we had offered. Since he didnt break the news he tried to say it was not true. Like the JERK he his he cut the guy off immediately

Why would this guy commit to SDST if he is an elite 11 QB. you would think he would get an elite offer. I know he has now, but -probably because were desperate to have him.

"I heard from Tennessee this week actually," Bray said when asked about the Vols. "They offered me on Wednesday, and today I talked to Coach Orgeron for awhile. I'm supposed to talk to coach Kiffin later on and I look forward to hearing what he has to say."

Every kid loves the small schools that are on them early....until they see the facilities an elite program has to offer.

If the UT coaches get him to visit campus, he'll probably forget that SDSU exists.
