If you watch is tapes, he does show some mobility. He even scores by making some moves and getting past some guys.

On the passing Bell and co. on the rankings, it may happen, but who cares if it does. JC was one of the top QBs coming out and was putting up numbers like this. The kicker is that he was playing in single A ball. From what i have heard (idk if its true or not), Tyler is not playing against the best high school competition in the world. Guys, take everything with some salt. Yes I am thrilled he is putting up these great numbers, but step back and look at the whole picture before you get your hopes too high.

+1

Shooter, what's with all the negativity towards Bray? If Lamaison is better then he will beat Bray out. But I guess i would be worried to because Bray is going to blow up over there.

I have watched Bray play since youth football and he has alway's had the arm, vision, knowledge and instincts of a good qb but he is now starting to get more agility and strength to go with it.

Last night they blitzed him from every angle and he either threw in to the face of the blitz or scrambled out of it to find open receivers. His back up is suppose to be the so called better athlete but he was not able to handle the pressure like Tyler did. Tyler's escapability is quite good. Here are a few highlights from last nights game. Kingsburg is the second game (team in the green)

Thanks for the highlights flip I greatly appreciate being able to see some video of Tyler that we would'nt be able to normally see. Tyler looked very impressive in that short clip.

With these stats we should also consider that Tyler is not playing a full game. The back up qb is coming in and playing and getting all of those 4th quarter statistics.

They actually put Lacy (back up) in the second qtr after Bray scored on his first 3 drives. Then Bray came back to start the second half and scored on his first 2 drives of the 2nd half.

All against teams that were mediocre. All three teams were not very good. Lets see what he does against a good team..These stats mean nothing...its like Cromptons game against WKU. Meant nada...
How many D1 players does he have on his team what is he playing with. all I know is I like the stats he has plus look where he was at before he went to the camps WITH the top qb's in the nation and look where he is now.

Even more impressive. IMO it would be harder to get a rhythm splitting reps like that.

Do you have extensive knowledge of his competition?

Listen shooter, Bray is part of the future - Lamaison is not. Sorry...

WOW that is definately a nice throw and release and I must say it doesn't hurt to get props for Tennessee on a Cali TV station.

Thanks for the link flip999
:good!:

I think the "level" of competition that HS players play against can get blown out of proportion. It seems lots of people forget that it works BOTH ways. In lower divisions, sure, the athletes you play against arent as good.....BUT you also have to remember, the athletes you play WITH arent as good either. In most cases, its a wash. Level of comp I thin would mainly come into factor when a guy is just so big that he can dominate on that alone. If they receive good coaching when they get to the college level that will prepare them for the jump in the level of athletes on BOTH sides of the ball, they are usually just fine.

Are the opponents quality opponents? From the records of the teams he's played, it doesnt look like the teams they are play are very good. Stats against bad teams are useless info...

Thats a bunch of crap. Its very important what kind of competition you play against. Its common sense...You must only watch weak teams....

Just like JUCO stats are worthless. Ask Kenny O'Neal and Brent Schaeffer.

wrong. you totally missed his point. he is saying that in high school, if you are playing against bad competition, that usually means the people around you on YOUR team are bad as well, so it evens out.

This argument is almost pointless. Unless he is playing for a national powerhouse HS team, the gap in competition at the next level is still immense. He's going from throwing to and against a bunch of kids that may or may not be good enough to play for FC schools to throwing to and against SEC athletes. Its all about intangibles, measureables, and being able to run the system in place.

Thank you. If you play against crap teams regularly, then you most likely play in a crap division, on a crap team yourself. Its why schools like Byrnes schedule Aquinas....to put there kids up against the best t osee how the pan out.

Guys just let people be ignorant. If they think he will suck because of the talent then they will probably be right. I mean look at bryce brown. He played against terrible teams and he absolutly sucks. Isnt he thinking about transferring to ball state or something???
He is a beast and will be a great QB. I am excited about him more then JS. scrog had zero upside and he will ride pine at USC. Bray will be a heisman contender in 3-4 years mark my words.

and to get back on topic, Tyler Bray's arm and poise in the video of his last game were even better than I thought. He keeps exceeding my expectations, all except his choice of hats.

But he does look like a potentially successful college qb.
