'10 DB Lamarcus Joyner

Dang, that article really got me excited. He's the #1 DB on UTs board and is going to take all his official visits and UT will definitely be one of them. So, Gran and Co. have 9 months catch up with Florida St. I really like our odds right now. Hopefully, FSU will tank on the field this year while the Vols make a decent turnaround...

I'm really surprised FSU is even allowed to have a football team right now

John Brice:

I think there's hope of getting Joyner back to campus for another unofficial in June. That earlier was the plan. You have to figure as good as the atmosphere was for the O/W game, an official visit experience would be even better, and quite frankly, FSU is a program in a much greater state of flux right now than Tennessee.

"After seeing Ohio State this weekend I feel I know everything about the program I need to know," he stated. "I kind of think I already have made my mind up but I'm not about to make that public right now"

Somebody just posted this Joyner quote on the MB. It's supposedly from an article on TOS...

"I feel that you can't compare any other atmosphere to Ohio State, besides FSU," explained Joyner. "That was a great thing. All of the other atmospheres were great and beautiful, but along with FSU this was my best unofficial visit ever."

Should be an interesting recruitment. I hope Seminole Showtime seals the deal for us.

Save yourselves the whiplash from following this kids moves for the next 10 months. He's an awesome ball player, enjoying the spotlight and it will be like Bryce Brown at the end.

You won't know until it's over. Hopefully for UT, he goes the same way as Brown.

I don't think UF is going to go hog wild trying to get this guy. Meyer isn't too fond of guys who try to attract too much attention to themselves.

so if florida isn't the leader, he's just trying to get attention and isn't worth following. and i know tim tebow is a great guy, and he helps people a lot more than me, and has a brighter future than me, and all that, but don't try to tell me he doesn't love the spotlight. plenty of people help other people without bringing television cameras. some people do it completely anonymously.

Look, I'm just saying that the kid is milking his recruitment for all it's worth.

Can't put Tebow in the same category. The guy has won 2 BCS titles and a Heisman. No matter what he does, he would be getting a lot of attention for it. He happens to be a missionary and by definition they are trying to further their beliefs and spread them to the public. It gets a bit much for me sometimes, but I'm pretty sure that's real passion on Tim's part and he's trying to bring attention to his mission, not to himself.

At the end of the day, I see FSU 50%, Ohio State 40% and rest of the pack 10% for Joyner.

He's flip flopped leaders 4 times in the last month and there's nothing in the cards to suggest this dynamic will change. UF was the leader two weeks ago and UT may be the leader a month from now.

Very little that you hear between now and the decision day will have much bearing on the final decision.

As far as the point on not believing a recruit is worth following unless he's a UF lead, that's nonsense. Jake Heaps or James Stone are candidates worth following. UF doesn't lead for them. I think someone is worth following if the news about them has some relationship to reality.

I don't see this lasting until signing day. I think a decision will come sooner rather than later, but I doubt he sticks with UF. I don't think Tennessee is a huge factor here, but anything can happen.

"....sticks with UF.." ?????

I'm a Gator and I don't see there being anything there which might stick in the first place. Joyner isn't ever going to be a Gator. He may thow our name at there from time to time....but that's just blowing smoke. I think he wants to be the second coming of Deion Sanders at FSU. IMO.

Was thinking of Dorsey. My bad.

Dorsey is a whole different story. Been a commit for quite a while and we've now got 4-5 other defensive backs in this class who are Rivals 100.

No shock that he's looking around. Same thing happened with Nuke.

I'm not in any way close to the situation but all things being equal, I think Dorsey goes elsewhere. And if he does the sooner the better.

I'd love to have him. He can run fast as hell in a straight line and deliver a good pop when he gets where he's going. Could be one of the best special teams players in the country. Weakness is that he doesn't have the hips of the top DB's which are so important in coverage. A good pickup for any team.

Well, if I'm in denial, then by defintion I wouldn't know what it is I'm in denial about.

So help me out here. What do you think I am in in denial about?

I reread your post and it is possible that you meant "taken" where you wrote "talkin". There's no denial there. Of course we would have taken Nuke if he wanted to stay...I've never hinted otherwise. We'd also like to keep Dorsey.

So once again, what do you think I'm in denial about.
