The thing is can he play TE? It says earlier in the thread he doesn't even play offense or at least didn't have any receptions.

The bet was whether or not JJ would commit to Tennessee Or UGA..

The thing here is this...defensive ends come a dime a dozen. 6'6" tight ends with game breaking ability do not. This guy could become a potential nightmare for defensive coordinators to prepare for. He would/could add the much need size and speed ratio that our offense is in dire need of. (See Coach Kiffin's latest comments if you need proof) And, most importantly, with Stocker coming back and Adams coming in, he would have time to learn the system and how to play TE, if he so desires.

If he doesnt wanna switch to TE, I doubt we end up taking him in the end....ESPECIALLY if we pull Lemonier.

After reading some Jones articles over the past few months, and the fact that Ken Adams is going to be a TE, Jones seems to be a DE for us now, IMO.

Unless Jones is the next Javon Kearse, agreed! He'll be the heir apparent to Luke Stocker. Stocker will be playing on Sundays after next year and Delvin has MUUUUUCH more athletic potential than Stocker. Infact, Jones could very well be one of those TE/WR hybrids like Shanon Sharpe.

I have a feeling that if we take another TE, that we take someone that is kind of off radar at the moment. I'm not sure who, but that seems likely, IMO. Quinton Alton would be my first choice.

Since no one can get a read on him you never know, LV thinks Meline would be the only one that could leave and he already said he's stayin so idk.........

I said Meline would be the only one that would leave because of Gran. Jones or Williams leaving wouldn't surprise me...

I want Jones to stay...I think he will be a Hi-impact TE, and as such he needs to stay with TN...as coaches on both sides of the ball have coached those positions in the NFL. He'd be making a big time mistake de-committing, IMHO.

considering how many passes get thrown to Stocker, Jones should be salivating to play in UTs offense. Rogers, Thompkins, Milton, and Ambles being on the field should open up plenty of big play opportunities, also, for Jones.
