'10 DE Delvin Jones

new article on scout, wat does it say please

scout:

"I am going to take visits to Tennessee (1/14), Ole Miss (1/21), and Arkansas (1/28). I am still committed to Tennessee, but I want to see what else is out there. I always said I was going to take my visits because I have not never been to their campuses. I just want to see what they have to offer."

well the de position is pretty deep at miami already which is why lemonier is really notjumping at miami right now...he wants pt..i dont think shannon was even recruiting hard enough...never heard much of him going to miami

Why doesn't this guy like miami at all, he is from there after all..jw

Delvin has said repeatedly that he wants to get out of Florida and experience other things. Lucky for us. I really think we hang onto him. He's one of those guys that the coaches really like and they've been on him like white on rice.

I still think he's a TE. He'll play DE if he doesn't have hands.

If we hang onto him, I REALLY hope he can catch and block. He could be an absolute BEAST at TE in our system. After seeing what Stocker was able to do this year with ONE year in the system.....with a QB who stunk it up for the first 1/3 of the season....I dont see how TE recruits arent falling over themselves to play in this system.

Does anyone even know for SURE we are even recruiting Jones as a TE?

No I think everyone is just assuming we're recruiting him at TE b/c we have so many other DE's committed and he's listed as an "athlete" and probably being recruiting by most coaches as one too. Besides Ken adams who we might lose, we don't have any other TE's committed ATM so we will need him there out of necessity most likely. There's some pics out there that i've seen that show him at camps running routes and catching the ball. He seems like a heckuva athlete so he must have decent hands at least. I say he gets his first shot at DE but the coaches will try him out at TE too. JMO

“I feel really good about my commitment to Tennessee,” Jones said. “I like the coaches a lot, I like what Lane Kiffin is building at Tennessee.”

“Coach Kiffin is telling me he wants me to play some wide out or tight end, and some of the coaches want me at defensive end,” Jones said. “What I like about Tennessee the most is the opportunity to play early as a true freshman. Coach Kiffin proved this season the best player will play no matter how old he is.”

- New article on Scout. He's a very underrated recruit IMO.
