'10 DE Delvin Jones

I don't underatand how an athlete of his magnitude could go this long without taking an SAT/ACT.. You would think that would be the first step in the process..

I took my SAT almost a year before commiting...though my parents were on my ass about getting my papers through the Clearing House and such - The whole process is a pain in the ass:crazy:

Yeah, When I was in sports medicine I saw first hand what these recruit had to go through.. You have to give it to these kids, they have alot on their plate before they get into school and it only gets harder once they get there..

It will be interesting to see what CDD thinks about in terms of S&P....based on his recruits so far, I don't know if he's so keen on that.

i think its a waste of a spot since other schools will recruit him next year anyway and we have McClain coming in if he doesnt get moved to the OL.

These +1. The juggle is a struggle. I remember trying to keep my grades up, take my ACT, appease every coach who came to my school, rehab existing injuries, and remain healthy, AND still practicing and playing everyday in the spring....It was a *****.

Senior year was supposed to be the best year of high school, but all I remember was wishing it would hurry up and end. I have no qualms with a kid like Delvin.

Schedules in High school are not hectic at all. I went through it all and it wasn't even closs to being hectic. When I got to college is when it started getting crazy, but there aren't any excuses for not taking care of business in high school.

Absolutely right. No high school schedules in the history of high schooldem are hectic. In fact, not even "closs" to hectic. Therefore, there are absolutely no excuses for not TCBing it all over high school's a$$. Not a single one: no matter the circumstances. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

These are not opinions, but stone cold, lead pipe facts. Look it up. It's science. Kudos, brother.

Delvin Jones article from TOS........

"I am thinking about Ole Miss pretty hard now," added Delvin Jones. "Right now, I am just chilled and focused on school, but I am looking at them pretty hard now."

Why Ole Miss?
"One of my old coaches use to coach there, and he told me a lot of good things about it over there. He thinks I will would fit in good there. Plus, two of my boys, Jeff Scott and Ralph Williams, are probably headed there too, so we have all been talking about going there together."

Who else in under consideration?

"Really no one. I am still talking to Florida State and Louisville, but that is about it."

Delvin has not taken any official visits because he does not have a recorded SAT/ACT test, which is a requirement to take an official visit. Could that delay his decision until after signing day so he can take in a couple of visits?

"I am going to sign on signing day. I think I know pretty much what I am going to do."

Delvin has been one of the more dominant forces in the Sunshine state the past two years as he collected 36 sacks and 137 tackles during this time frame.

any chance that with ralph supposedly wanting to honor his commitment and stay with UT that Delvin comes back as a sign and place commit?

Could be some chance, but if he is close to getting into any school, he might pick a non-SEC one (WVU)??? No info, just thinking out loud.

We need to sign and place this kid.

dont think it will happen; add that last article to this latest update about him

Auburn looks to be in good shape with Shon Coleman. Ole Miss made a run, Alabama caught his attention for a couple of weeks, and Miami tried to get in there, but look for Coleman to stay with the Tigers on Wednesday.

One time Tennessee commitment Delvin Jones will likely stay in the SEC, but it will not be in Knoxville. It looks like the Florida linebacker will be playing in the SEC West at Ole Miss. Look for Jones to sign with the Rebels on Signing Day.

One of the quietest prospects out there in 2010 was Damien Robinson and it looks like he will end up staying in state. Memphis made a strong push for him and had him on campus a week ago, but Mississippi State looks to be in very good position to land this big offensive tackle.
