I know. I just thought that it was the most incredibly gay sounding comment I've ever read on Volnation.

Not that there is anything wrong with being gay, but there are probably better outlets for expressing one's "gayness."

Ideally you want your LBs good enough and fast enough that you don't have to pull down your best player to shore them up.

Then why did Monte have John Lynch play the same role at various points in time for years in TB? It wasn't his base defense but in third and short and other various situations he would always bring Lynch up to cause confusion. This isn't just a wrinkle that we will only see this year. Monte likes to have a big safety he can use to help stop the run.

I believe* Elam will be/is a Vol. Just putting three and three together.

SS is almost always the free guy or the 8th man in the box in run support.
Monte just played to Lynch's strenghts. Lynch was barely decent in coverage. When Lynch was gone and
Berry is playign close to the LOS out of necessity. he is forcing plays like an OLB because our LBs arent what they should be. Tanard Jackson was the Bucs SS the last couple yrs and his strengths are much different than Lynch's, so Monte played him in a more of a conventional Safety "role" and quietly Tanard is one of the best Safety's in the NFL

This is going to be a recurring theme. Bob Sanders is Tony Dungy's Cover 2 D was always around the line of scrimmage as was Lynch under Monte as someone else said.

Having a "bafety" as Scout calls it, is extremely important in defending spread offenses.

So I kinda figured nobody likes me on here but I have said sorry about 3 times and I am sorry and I'm not lying again I'm gonna continue posting but I am very sorry to all those I have upset.

I'm out of school today because of parent teacher conferences.

And Elam is awesome, hopefully if he's not here next year he's at WVU.

I'm not trying to attack you man, but people wouldn't get after you so much if you would just stop posting senseless crap on every single thread every second of the day. people are looking for information about recruits on here, not the babbling of a bored 16 yo kid that doesn't have anything to contribute. it really is annoying.

So, all this high school drama aside, anyone heard anything else about Elam? What official visits does he have left, if any?

So, it's pretty much down to us, UF, and WVU. He seems to have cooled on UF, WVU got his attention with his visit there, and now we seem to have really impressed him. I'm liking our chances more and more with this kid.

On a side note: I'm also his friend on facebook now, which makes me feel kinda cool, lol. My girlfriend and I were sporting our UT gear in my profile pic, too.

OK - The latest gator conspiracy. UM has sent Elam to us, he's gonna commit to us and then give us the Heismann on NSD.
