'10 FL ATH Matt Elam

They be creepin'.

Seriously, it's creepy as hell.

That Andy Hardy guy is rather creepy, and comments on a recruits page saying to "come to UT" or "come to UF" I feel are inappropriate.

I just befriended the guy, and I'm not leaving him comments or anything of that nature. So, please, don't compare me to some older creep who goes and leaves comments on recruit's pages.

I wonder if that dude is still gonna try to tell us that Orgeron talks to his grandpa and that we are gonna sign Munchie?

:eek:lol: Ed O would try to chest bump his grandpa and hurt that poor fella...or eat him. LV, Do you think Elam will keep quiet, and stay committed to the gators, until the time for Early Enrollees to decide comes? In which case he switches to WVU or (Hopefully) us?

Ahh, the quiet stalker.

Did anyone listen to Mike Farrell on Rivals radio?

Apparently he said that he would be shocked if Elam left UF and that Chaz Green was a silent to UF.

Well that sucks a fat one...I wonder why he said that about Elam when he's not happy about their recruitment of other defensive backs, and he's publicly said that.

OK - The latest gator conspiracy. UM has sent Elam to us, he's gonna commit to us and then give us the Heismann on NSD.

Interesting theory. Would make Meyer look like an even bigger db than he already is if true, though.

found another article on Elam's interest in Vols and thought there was good quotes....

"It was great man," Elam said of Tennessee. "It impressed me how prestigious [Volunteers defensive coordinator] Monte [Kiffin] is and how active and excited he is at the age he's at."

Elam's tour guide around the Vols' campus was junior All-American DB Eric Berry. Elam said he saw a lot of himself in Berry, who he described as a "very cool guy that is all about fun."

Elam said he doesn't have plans to officially pull his commitment from the Gators, but said the large number of defensive backs entering the program does give him some pause since he wants to play early.

"I don't understand why they're doing that," Elam said. "That's really pushing me away."

Hey CV, how about I don't come here and tease you and your mates about Elam and you stay off of GatorCountry telling us he's yours.

Elam has been tight with Meyer since he was a kid. It's possible that he would go elsewhere if the situation wasn't best for him. But going to UT would be a stab in the back.

He's just enjoying the attention, especially those hot escorts that come with these official visits.

Tease away Max,
I imagine your "mates" are glad to be rid of you.

Nice comeback.

But at least I don't come to VN to complain about my mates.

You who are so sick of the homerific posting on VN that you have to come to GatorCountry to get away from it.

Ha. :eek:lol:

SS is almost always the free guy or the 8th man in the box in run support.
Monte just played to Lynch's strenghts. Lynch was barely decent in coverage. When Lynch was gone and
Berry is playign close to the LOS out of necessity. he is forcing plays like an OLB because our LBs arent what they should be. Tanard Jackson was the Bucs SS the last couple yrs and his strengths are much different than Lynch's, so Monte played him in a more of a conventional Safety "role" and quietly Tanard is one of the best Safety's in the NFL
Monte likes to have a big safety that he can do multiple things with. That is why John Lynch was his safety for the better part of a decade. Monte likes that kind of flexibility, and Elam will fill that role nicely. Of course, when Lynch left and Tanard stepped up he wasn't going to run the same scheme. It wouldn't make sense to do so with him. That doesn't change the fact that he loves to have a big safety to give different looks with.

Looks like Elam will be a Gator. All things are pointing towards that.

Please let us know what these "things" are...

Because I would think decommitting and saying that if he had to choose now he'd pick somewhere other than UF are pretty big "things" that point to the contrary

He has not decommitted.

My bad...

Based on all of the things I've read about him recently I just assumed he was...

He seems about as committed to UF as Aubrey Phillips was to us the day before NSD last year
