'10 FL ATH Matt Elam

Slaton was a 3rd rounder...big friggin deal. Players from Hampton have been drafted higher (Justin Durant). Pacman has been the only top pick that program has had in the past 3 decades at least....maybe ever.

I still can't for the life of me figure out why anyone, especially an elite athlete, would want to play at WVU.

3rd rounder yes but he's makin some big money in Houston. But I do agree with you about going to WVU. The Big East is a joke compared to the SEC.

Making big bucks in Houston and getting benched..

I think he's clawed his way back to the #1 by fending off studs like Chris Brown and Ryan Moats.

When is the latest you can commit as an EE, with 12/12 being his next visit that seems awfully late. Also does anyone know if he plans on visiting with the vols again?? I saw a weekly whispers on rivals which said that we could steal him from UF but no one has said anything about another visit of sorts and WVU seems to be the frontrunner if he doesnt commit to florida.

all the way up i believe in 2008 patrick johnson or peterson now... was commited to miami then took for ever to choose and was a early enrolle for lsu

Then why did you make the Steve Slaton comment? 1st round and 3rd round money is a big difference. SEC>>>>>>Big East.

My point was just that Slaton is making good money in the NFL and is from WVU............I said nothing about not being in the 1st round.

My orginal post which you quoted had everything to do with the draft and you brought up Steve Slaton, for some odd reason. I believe most people in the NFL make good money, but top draft picks get the good money right out of the gate.

Going to WVU will end up costing him millions in the draft. If he wants to be a top pick someday he better stick to an SEC school.

I'll be sure to tell Steve Slaton that.

The difference from first round money to third round money is millions. Accomplishment in the Big East will get you drafted but accomplishment in the SEC usually will get you to being a first round pick.

Ok ok my bad guys. Guess I wasn't paying close enough attention to what I read and was typing, my apologies.

Apparently, Riley is visiting UF this weekend. That may be the straw that breaks the camel's back with Elam. Either that or Mack Brown.

NO TJ word is he's going to visit the U but Riley is confirmed. Matt pushed his OV back until 12/12 maybe until playoff are over but I think he is waiting to see how this ALL plays out. IMO

Mack is the only Rb in the class. Riley is more of a secondary plan for Matt or Dorsey not being in this class but you should ask around about how Mack mother feels about Lane its Marlon Brown thing all over.
