'10 FL ATH Matt Elam

Check your facts NCAA required all EE to be on campus for orientation Dec 21.

The NCAA would make an exception for a case like this but he would have to do it this week which I dont see happening and may put other teams in the mix....From what i've heard though the rumors are true that he contacted Jimbo and said he was switching to FSU but whether that stays will see.

If that is true FSU just violated the dead period rule and as a consequence might lose the right to sign him

I dont think Elam would come out and say it right away but I heard from a very reliable source that the rumor is true but like I said will see if it stays. As for NCAA violation not true I believe they can call them 1 time a week or something but from the NCAA recruiting rules definitions:

"Dead Period"
"The college coach may not have any in-person contact with you or your parents at any time in the dead period. The coach may write and telephone you or your parents during this time."

Recruits do not have to be at a NCAA mandated orientation by Dec 21. They attend the same orientation that normal students and transfer students attend.

UT's spring date is Jan 11. Florida had one on Dec 7th, but the next one is not until Jan 4th.

If Elam goes to FSU, Jimbo Fisher will somehow get the top recruiting class and create one of the greatest mystery's in the history of college football.

not if elam contacted them

If they said anything more than sorry son you'll have to call back in a couple of weeks it still would be. Fulmer has a recruits father walk in his office and was told by CPF he couldn't talk his son's recruitment and Vols still got a secondary violation

Know the rules before you call someone out. Its already been established several times in this thread.

Elam isnt going to make a decision about leaving UF this quick, and if for some reason he did, he wouldnt have told people. This is just stupid talk about anyone decommitting this early.
