'10 FL ATH Matt Elam

...who people questioned whether the true sophomore could even pass the ball before the season started and was forced to compensate for a defense that lost 12 of its top 14 players from the year before, had to rely heavily on freshmen and defensive middle got racked with season ending injuries that necessitated the conversion of Mike Pouncey to defensive tackle.

Redshirt junior QB, veteran defense that's lost only 4 starters and tight end is the only position on the team that will probably need to rely on freshmen.

No matter who Florida returns on offense, that offense minus Tebow's legs really wasn't that explosive. And the players leaving from that defense are likely its best ones (Haden, Spikes, Dunlap, etc.) aside from maybe Janoris Jenkins.

oh definitely that 2007 offense wouldn't have been nearly as explosive without Tebow's running ability because our running back production was bad that year. Kestahn Moore would later get converted to fullback, Brandon James would later get converted to wide receiver, Markus Manson had been converted to CB and Chevon Walker was a headcase who transferred midway through the season. Mon Williams, Bo Williams (transferred later) and Chris Rainey had to take a medical redshirts.

But as for this year Brantley is a better pure passer than Tebow and our running back situation is far better with Demps, Rainey, Moody, Gillislee and Mack Brown (will enroll Summer A). Brantley will still use his legs a bit but a lot more like Alex Smith rather than Tim Tebow.

Redirecting the post back to Elam...

He's listed as declaring today at the Army AA game. Seems like he would be hopping off the FSU ship.

the word out is Florida but the Elam is loving the attention right now so who knows what's going on in his mind.

He should have gotten a personal foul on the one hit he put on that defenseless WR on the sidelines when Hampton broke up the pass. Dirty play.

From what I hear the gators have been all up in him giving the hard press. Wish him best of luck.

Personally I wish he would have stayed with FSU...now look for Dorsey to drop how firm he is to UF down this week. I believe he decommits from UF for UT next weekend on his visit. IMO I feel that Dprsey has an issue with Matt. If could only pick one, I'm going with Dorsey. I'm also hearing that Riley gave a verbal today. I emailed Mike L to get the scoop.

riley to the gators? what?
This came from a pretty good source on the Rivals main board but after he gave the info on Floyd I'm thinking he is in the "know".Hearing this was before the AA game.... maybe a backup for Dorsey or Dowling if he moves to WR......I emailed one of the Mods for any info.

Was Rieley a Gator lean? I always thought he was USC for sure, but I guess CPC bolting is turning everybody upside down in SoCal.

I thought Riley and Elam didn't like each other.
That's what the rumor has been but this posters has never been know for BS so it could be legit info but im waiting for the mod's reply.......hear that he's a pretty good reciever so maybe it's because Sticks, Green or Boone will end up elsewhere. His jr stats were crazy at WR.

Hmm, I think it would be hard to keep Dorsey, Dowling, Elam, and Riley.

Also you guys seem to be about full.. How many can you take this year?
