'10 FL ATH Nickell Robey

UGA has been as loaded as they are ever going to get one should say. They have lost every game I can remember minus one that they were not supposed to win. And then lost many games they were supposed to win. That is the sign of bad coaching. We at Tennessee know all about it.

you wouldn't happen to have some georgia lottery numbers for me now would ya?

I am in Georgia but no. It is to say schools not in TX, FL, LA or CA have a major disadvantage in recruting. Tennessee spends more then anyone to make up for this and has the prestige to pull kids. UGA has little prestige. They will be showing Walker highlights for the next 50 years. It is what it is...

Thats true. you can add Alabama to that list, simply because they keep 90% of their kids instate. Georgia is smack-dab in the center of the southeast, and to only have 2 D-1 schools, many other major programs can pull talent from Georgia. IIRC, in the SEC, the majority of each team's roster was from the state the school was located in, but second was Georgia.

Nah, I don't think recruits only care about National Championships. I'm sure that having so many players in the NFL doing well doesn't hurt recruiting. UGA has little prestige? I'd say (using the NCAA Dynasty prestige ranking lol) that we'd be a 4 out of 5. The only way we could say we were a legitimate juggernaut would be to win a NC soon, and remain in the Top 10 for multiple weeks. These kids don't know as much CFB history as you think.

I don't think the majority of Tennessee players have been from Tennessee in a very long time. Any fact checkers out there? UGA has some prestige yes but not like a Bama or UT. Georgia is a good state for football and in theory UGA should be able to good forever. However, the lack of prestige is not about kids knowing history I agree they are clueless. It does affect who there parents root for though and cousins etc. In N. Georgia there are many many UT households and Bama households. This is not because of what we have done lately. At some point UT was good and they became a fan or their parents did. UGA has been good now for two periods. Early 80s and recent years. UT has been good in the 80s, 90s and early part of this decade. Not to mention almost every decade before the 80s. This creates if we were doing math many many more UT households and people who think of UT as a good football school. UGA as of now is not in this league. And if they don't get a coach soon they never will be. If UT gets back on top N. Georgia will go to UT seemingly forever.

I'll tell you one thing, Stafford and Moreno absolutely didn't care about getting a National Champ. I'd be willing to bet they didn't give a flying you know what about UGA as well. They both just wanted to get to the NFL.

lol, not like that didn't help us with recruiting. we took out of state kids and sent them to the first round. Wouldn't that be a major selling point for recruiters? Isn't that part of what Monte Kiffin selling kids on?

For all i care, you guys can have North Georgia...if i was UGAs recruiting coordinator, i'd rather just fight with you guys for kids in Atlanta and own everything below that.

Well Atlanta is N. Georgia and Gwinnett is the best football county in the state now. S. Georgia still puts out some players for sure but GA competes with the FL schools there. We have your best Lineman this year and your best LB next year. Maybe your best athlete is leaning UT. The rise back up is not complete for sure but if things keep going the way they are going UGA is in a lot of trouble.

I'm more impressed with the Michael Taylor pickup than Juwaun James. Our line is just about deep enough IMO. Taylor is a player, and we wouldve had him if Demetre Baker and Deon Rogers hadn't committed before him.

If AJ Johnson was as enamored with UGA as he made it seem after committing to you guys, then if he ever does get an offer it wouldn't be impossible to swing him.

Whos the best athlete ur talking about?

I agree, if we become complacent with our in-state kids we could be in trouble, because Kiffin has called our bluff. but I trust CMR. and if he can't get the job done, I trust our AD to make the right moves.

Gran and Reaves supposedly had an in-home visit with Robey tonight. I dunno for sure that Gran was there, but Reaves definitely was...

georgia pledge nickell robey looking around

espnu 150 cornerback nickell robey (frostproof, fla.) is committed to the bulldogs but not finished with the recruiting process, espn affiliate web site eersports.com reports.

"he took a visit to tennessee and i believe he's taking a visit to west virginia," said frostproof coach clay brantley. "(west virginia assistant) coach (david) lockwood said he'd talked about he would probably visit wvu." however, a date to morgantown has not been set.

Brantley added, "he's been real quiet right about it. I would say the commit to georgia, then i'd say tennessee, south florida and wvu."

Yes CMK and the other coaches are selling the NFL opportunities but look at guys like Corey Miller, Brandon Willis, Jacques Smith, Matt Milton........they love the SCHOOL. They care about putting on that Orange on Saturdays and representing their schools.
