I think alot of people were high on TT because he was "cool". Others hated him because of his style.

I try to look at results. IMHO, he was underrated as a position coach. It would have been great to have had him and Gran on the same staff.

OTOH, I think TT overestimated his upside right now and that's why he jumped at the OSU job. Everyone else saw what Gundy was doing... not sure why TT missed it.

TT was a very good position coach and a good solid recruiter. I know a lot of Tennessee fans have a way of suddenly turning on a guy if he leaves or whatever but TT's units excelled when he was a WR coach and when he was the RB's coach. I would not be surprised to see him in Knoxville again as an assistant in the not to distant future.

I'm obviously a huge fan of Eddie Gran.

However, nobody compares to Ed Orgeron. Not as a position coach or as a recruiter. It's not even close really.

If it's not for Gran in Florida, we aren't in on half of the recruits we are in on down there. At this point, I would take Gran mainly because we don't have anyone other than him that knows Florida the way he does. O is great in his own respect, but we need in Florida now more than ever.

Gran = FL
O = LA
Wilson = MI, LA
Reaves = SC
Thomson = GA, AL

What a great staff. Pretty much wrapped up the Southeast.

I thought it was 6:00 Eastern?

Nah, it's 6:30. Here's the original post by JB yesterday:

Spoke to Michael this morning.

He will make his decision at 6:30 Eastern Time Thursday evening. He will then contatct the head coach of the school of his choice, and hopefully I will be talking to him shortly afterwards.

I'm betting on Orange on this, nothing he said, just a feeling.

Orgeron = TN, GA (lot of misc. locations)
Wilson = LA, MS
Reaves = SC
Thompson = GA, AL
Cregg = CA
Gran = South Florida
Garza = Texas
Chaney = midwest (MO, IN)

Monte = closer
CLK = miscellaneous utility

everyone will do support work, but these are the main concentrations.

So, what do you tell a kicker when recruiting?

We don't have random wind gusts? The goal posts are easier to spot?

CLK is willing to try one from 70+ if the conditions warrant, so you could get a shot at a world record.

... we have great snappers and holders?

This is not easy. Please help.

I would start with you would be the anchor of our special teams. You have great talent at all three kicking positions and we are willing to use that to our advantage. You will have the oportunity to follow in the footsteps of some of the finest kickers to ever play in the game.
