the article on vq says he plans to visit miami but he wont make it this weekend as planned ........what happened ??? anybody know

I know your not a troll brother, I am talking about the person who made the post that hurt Palardy and his dad`s feelings!

It was probably Orgeron posing as a Vol fan.

I'm excited about Palardy, hope he comes to Knoxville. I can't keep up with what's going on. One day he's "all vol" then the next he's not?

We will be fine IMO with Palardy...they read a post from a troll which is why players and those with influence should not take message boards so seriously because anyone could post anything acting like they support a school.

Eric Russell is an outstanding special teams coach as you can tell with his overall unit performances...you can't put too much stock in fg% when Palardy prob has 3 times the physical talent than any of the kickers Russell had to coach, but Russell has built very strong units to surround his kickers which should be the focus point of his research.

I didn't see the the thread on the other site, but if what I heard was true the offending comments were by Wankrews. He's supposedly a Vol fan, but he's a moron who enjoys stirring the pot.

If he does switch he will def be missed, but i'm sure there has got to be another kicker that could kick it further on kick-offs than cunningham....and as we have seen a walk on kicker was better than anything else we have.

All that being said....I really want this kid.

I HATE the avatar...GO Steelers!

But I agree with you about palardy......You can find a kicker on any soccer team in the country! This kid is good, but kicking is not a priority......HIS kick was blocked at the Army game..correct???? Coaches look for kickers in the wrong places...Soccer! That is where you look!!!! I know 4 HS kids that can kick a football in the end-zone in our county!???? Its not rocket science to find a kicker.....unless your are Florida State......God..that hurts to say.....

have to say this is all wrong.

1) There is a huge difference in kicking/punting a soccer ball and kicking/punting a football. You can't just grab a kid off a soccer field and have him kicking it consistently in a few minutes.

2) Kicker is most definitely a priority for UT. Maybe you missed the bama game?

You have no idea! If there were that many soccer players that could kick footballs in this country, they would be. Palardy was a soccer player. As a matter of fact, several of the kids that worked out at the camp he works out at, were soccer players, and couldn't even come close. Secondly, I suppose that any soccer player could kick the ball over the outstretched arms of a 6'5" lineman while he's standing 2 yards in front of you? Did you see the other kicker who had the blocking? Big difference. Finally, it is obvious that you have never kicked a football in your life...it isn't the same! Foot positions are completely different. I would love to see the kids in your county that can kick the ball from the 30 yard line into the endzone consistently.

I think it's pretty sad to let a supposed fan's online post offend you enough to consider switching schools. I'm not sure if that's the real reason or not but if it is than it's incredibly weak, especially when considering how excited so many other vol fans and volnation/volquest members are about the guy. I also heard he wasn't impressed with the ST position coach hire, which also leaves me baffled based on the guy's resume and successes he's had at La Tech and other stops.

If he doesn't come around to confirming his commitment soon I say we treat him as uncommitted and go after Acosta again. We desperately need a kicker this year and to pin our hopes on a kid (and his family apparently) who have second thoughts because of an online poster is not a good idea. I still think he'll end up at UT as long as he gets along w/ the new staff but if he doesn't confirm his commitment I think we should let him know we'll pursue plan B (Corey Acosta comes to mind).

He said he was only going to visit Miami in case his offer was pulled by CDD. Since the offer is still there, I am sure he is all Vol and likely will not visit anywhere else.

I do have an idea. I have my opinion, you have yours. I still hope he comes to UT!
