True, but you need someone to keep the other team out of range as well. When you are punting from your own endzone and you have someone that can put the other team back on their own 40 or 45, that is a true weapon. Gives the defence a chance to change the field position to their advantage. It all counts in the outcome of the game. I'd rather have it than not!!!
Dont get it clouded. Palardy is far and away the most important player in this class for us. I think hes all Vol and will be a great one at that but if something did fall through last minute we do have a very good fall back in Acosta as well.

Don't get it clowded, he is not. He is very important but to say a kicker is most important is a little off. If you want my opinion Tyler Bray is probably the most important player in this class for us, just because of his upside.
I am not on board that Palardy is the most important recruit this class (you need people to get you into field goal range first), but he is very important. This is great news and I pray ends the roller coaster of recruitment.
The field position we have given up recently with terrible kick offs, terrible punting and the missed FGs that have cost us in the past seasons say otherwise.
Were you paying attn during the 2008 season? I agree he can potentially be huge.
Also not saying its wrong and I've heard it over and over again that he can punt but I've never seen a single highlight video of it.
Coach Conrad just posted on TOS. He said that Michael and his family actually did enjoy the trip to Miami alot. But he said Michael had eliminated Miami because of his love for the city of Knoxville and the game day atmosphere. He said the trip really showed Michael how attached he really is to Rocky Top.
