robvol, probation isn't meaningless. What people are missing is that FSU already punished itself by suspending 2 dozen players for the 08 bowl game, and 10 football players for the first 3 games of 08-09, as well as reducing our number of scholarships. So, since this happened over 2 years ago, probation in our case doesn't mean as much now because we've already served the punishment. If FSU hadn't of been so proactive, we would really be hurting right now. This just shows you how meaningless putting a program on probation is these days. FSU is a very fine example.
Another Fla kid wants to vomit his career down the toilet. Its one thing if these kids were choosing Meyer and the Gators....b/c at least you could say, hey kid is going to the big state school of his home state, nice campus, program is rolling right now, good coaching, great stadium to play in, big time atmosphere....but none of that is true for FSU, none of it..
IF the kid chooses FSU he has a reason for it just like a kid that chooses to come UT. We need to put down the orange glasses sometimes and realize that there are other great schools out there other than UT.

I agree with that, but Florida State could hardly be considered a "great" school at this point in time.
Now you just sound unintelligent. Name a recent player to come out of there that is contributing??? LOL I won't even name them all, but I'll start with Anquan Boldin, Leon Washington, Antonio Cromartie, Ernie Sims, Kamerion Wimbley, Darnell Dockett, Bryant McFadden...the pull for Jones to FSU has to be the legacy and that's it. I wasn't arguing "how could anyone not chose UT", honestly for the kid, I don't know how he could possibly chose FSU over Florida. Tahlahassee is the ugliest, most hiddeous college town ever. The campus is crappy, the school is not that good. The ACC?? The new coaching staff at FSU is average at best. Name a recent player to come out of there that is contributing in the NFL??
In the 90's it was still an ugly place, crappy school and campus, but had great coaching, amazing recruiter in Bowden. None of that exists anymore. FSU of the 90's will become what SMU of the 80's was....
