No offense but I'm sure you understand with all the misinformation and general stupidity running rampant on the internet now days, most people want a source before they believe anything.

listen, If i wanted to make up some crap to get some "internet kudos" would I have asked for confirmation ?

I want to know if thats around anywhere else.

I've seen nothing about Jones committing to FSU, this is going by FSU's rivals site. I would say it is a safe bet that he will eventually commit to them but I think we still have a chance to pull him.

This just shows you how meaningless putting a program on probation is these days. FSU is a very fine example.

robvol, probation isn't meaningless. What people are missing is that FSU already punished itself by suspending 2 dozen players for the 08 bowl game, and 10 football players for the first 3 games of 08-09, as well as reducing our number of scholarships. So, since this happened over 2 years ago, probation in our case doesn't mean as much now because we've already served the punishment. If FSU hadn't of been so proactive, we would really be hurting right now.

Another Fla kid wants to vomit his career down the toilet. Its one thing if these kids were choosing Meyer and the Gators....b/c at least you could say, hey kid is going to the big state school of his home state, nice campus, program is rolling right now, good coaching, great stadium to play in, big time atmosphere....but none of that is true for FSU, none of it..

You are on a roll with the bashing today. Its freaking Christmas, get over yourself and let these kids make THEIR decision.

IF the kid chooses FSU he has a reason for it just like a kid that chooses to come UT. We need to put down the orange glasses sometimes and realize that there are other great schools out there other than UT.

He's an FSU legacy. It would mean a lot to him(and his father) if he helped turned that place around...I'm still hoping he ends up in Knoxville, though.

I agree with that, but Florida State could hardly be considered a "great" school at this point in time.

His father, Willie Jones Sr., is in the FSU football HOF, and his brother, Willie Jr., also played football at FSU. Hate to say it, but those are 2 big reasons for him to attend FSU. Sorry if this is old news.

What are you basing your criteria on regarding FSU not being a great program? If it is football tradition, we are only a year ahead of them in our recovery. FSU started going down about the same time as we did. I remember back in the late 90's when FSU was the "fad" team. The kid is a legacy there.

Not to hurt to many peoples feelings.. but neither could UT.. We've been straight miserable the last 5-6 years with this year being a tiny bit better than the rest..

FSU and UT are pretty much in the same boat when it comes to rebuilding.. We are just one year ahead of them..

That's exactly why Jimmy Clausen came to UT.

Oh... Wait. He didn't come here.

the pull for Jones to FSU has to be the legacy and that's it. I wasn't arguing "how could anyone not chose UT", honestly for the kid, I don't know how he could possibly chose FSU over Florida. Tahlahassee is the ugliest, most hiddeous college town ever. The campus is crappy, the school is not that good. The ACC?? The new coaching staff at FSU is average at best. Name a recent player to come out of there that is contributing in the NFL??

In the 90's it was still an ugly place, crappy school and campus, but had great coaching, amazing recruiter in Bowden. None of that exists anymore. FSU of the 90's will become what SMU of the 80's was....

Now you just sound unintelligent. Name a recent player to come out of there that is contributing??? LOL I won't even name them all, but I'll start with Anquan Boldin, Leon Washington, Antonio Cromartie, Ernie Sims, Kamerion Wimbley, Darnell Dockett, Bryant McFadden...

all those respectable players came out in '02 - '04, Anquan Bolden is awesome, and pre-Jimbo Fisher debacle. He is the only all-pro on that list. That is a drastic change from the 90's when Bowden was putting the most players in the nfl.
