"I had narrowed it down to six, but there's a few more - it's FSU, USC, Tennessee, Florida, Oklahoma, Alabama, Notre Dame, Miami and Rutgers," Jones said.

"FSU is the frontrunner by a little," Jones said.

Per Rivals... All things considered, I think we are good shape here...

“Tennessee was my first call around 7 a.m.,” Jones told InsideTennessee.com. “It was pretty big to me that they were the first ones to call. I like Tennessee a lot.”

“They were telling me how important I am to their recruiting class and how much they need me,” Jones said. “I’m thinking about taking an official visit there, I feel pretty sure that I will.”

Per Scout... I really like this guy...

Is it just me or was UT everyones first call?

man our staff rocks
It sure does seem like a lot of the recruits say the same thing. Tennessee was the first to call/offer. That means alot to them. And shows the dedication we are seeing. The fire is hot!

1st call may not land every recruit but it sure gives us a behind the scenes look at our coaches working their arses off. It is evident to me that with so many recruits commenting on Tennessee's staff about being first to contact, writing handwritten letters, multiple coaches contacting them, etc.

You better believe these recruits remember who called them at 6am on September 1st when NSD rolls around.

His father and brother played at FSU. I think if we can get him to visit at one of the games in TN we will move up his list of choices. He says that "I am going to be looking at the coaches and the team," he said. "Not just how the team's record is, but how they actually are as a team."

"I want to take some other visits to games and stuff while also planning out my officials," Jones said. "I know I want to see Tennessee, Oklahoma, USC, and Notre Dame. I will definitely make it back to FSU for more games. I want to take all of my officials but with the in-state schools, I can travel to them at anytime, so I won't use an official on the schools close by."

This is evidence of how good our recruiting staff is... not just landing the recruits but the evaluation process also...

Latest news Christian-He must of dropped down our list of targets-
"Lake Howell LB Christian Jones, the No. 1 prospect on the Sentinel's Top 100 list for Central Florida, has made arrangements for his first official recruiting visit to be to Notre Dame for the Oct. 24 weekend in which the Irish play Boston College.

Jones (Sr., 6-3 ½/225) said after practice Thursday he also plans to take an official visit to USC when the Trojans host UCLA on Nov. 28. He is deciding about his other three allowed official visits — which are paid for by the host colleges. He said Oklahoma will probably get one of those visits and he is also considering Michigan and Rutgers.

Jones has said from the start of the recruiting process that he is leaning toward Florida State, where his father and older brother played. But the Seminoles aren't likely to get an official visit, nor will UF. Jones said he has taken enough unofficial visits to both of those campuses to see games.

"I don't need to take an official to Florida State or Florida. I pretty much know all about them," he said.

Jones will make an unofficial visit to Miami to watch the Hurricanes play Oklahoma this Saturday.

Jones said again this week that he is taking his time to check out schools he is interested in and has set no timetable for a final decision.

Article on Christian Jones:
"Fast and big, Jones is a terror as a linebacker, but might be best suited for rush defensive end at the next level. With his speed and some added bulk, you have a sack specialist in the making. Although Jones lists Florida and FSU as his favorites, he won’t schedule any official visits to the instate schools. Being so familiar with them and having the ability to visit them any time he wishes means Jones will be keeping his officials for out-of-state trips. Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Tennessee, and USC seem the most likely to get visits from the defensive freak. And he plans on being in Miami for this weekend’s game. We have a while to wait though; Jones won’t announce until signing day."

We are more in on this guy than what everybody percieves. UT's staff is on him hard and he seems to be a priority.

He'll take an official to Knoxville.

Put him with Miller, Willis, and Smith, and you have a terror of a DL.

Kid is very similar to Chris Walker IMO, and his ceiling may be higher than Walkers.

"It's really exciting to think that Monte Kiffin is coming to my school to watch me in person," Jones said. "I have always been more of a college guy than an NFL guy, but I definitely know who coach Kiffin is and what he has accomplished in football."

- Per VQ

Monte will be there Thursday. He's also coming on an official for USC game.

Christian is the top football in the Orlando area. This would be a great get for the VOLS. He is very athletic and can play mutilple positions. I am sure he would be very happy to see Monte on the sidelines of his game this week.

He would be a huge get but FSU is going to be tough to beat no matter what because of his family ties.

He would face a lot of uncertainty with the FSU program in the next few years, which is why quite a few of their recruits are reconsidering options.
