'10 GA ATH Blake Sims

bump for stealing commits ;)

If you want him you can have him. James hurt because he would see the field here early. Sims no way. If it was Allen, Fulton, Millner or someone like that I would be concerned, but this kid would rank near the bottom of our class right now. Not trying to be negative but if you follow recruiting and see our class you would see that.

Do not take me wrong Sims will be a good player in college, he will not hurt us if we lost him though. Not like James did. Even if we get Arie, Stone, or whoever we still will not get an OL like James this year. We have depth coming in at DB and Sims was way down on that list and with Allen probably playing WR and the way D White is playing this week again Sims is way down on that list. It is a position that will not hurt us right now. I would rather get a another DL or OL commit then all the WRs we have coming in.

First: Stop overrating James, TW. He is fine player, prolly one that will be an All-SEC one day, but he isn't the end all to OL. I didn't like how James decommited (he freakin' lied), but if Bama can survive losing Bobby Massie on NSD, then can get by on losing James. BTW, James will be a heckuva player for UT.

Second: Tennessee will need all the luck in the world to pull Blake Sims away from Bama. If Georiga, who came a-calling---and was/is his boyhood favorite team---and couldn't get Sims to decommit from Bama, I doubt LK and the UT coaching staff will persuade him. You should try like Tennessee is doing, but I would put the chances of Sims decommitting from Bama at less then 5%.

Do you know who UGA sent and an when? Also our new staff is relentless, and we (VolFans) don't fear UGA when it comes to recruiting. Don't you think 5% may be a tad low, maybe like closer to 25? Just a gut feeling....

I am just saying with James we took a hit, but with Sims it wouldn't really be. Also again rumors are that Sims might be a sign and place at this point.

CMR was the one that visited Sims. Sims family really wants him at UGA. The deal was that they ignored him until late. A picture from the Sims living room looked like a Dawg sports bar. Even the furniture covers were UGA themed.

I don't see TW or any Vol fans placing expectations that would somehow exceed All-SEC for James. I think we would be absolutely thrilled if he was All-SEC here at UT, that would be excellent. I think if he had stayed then he would have done the same for Alabama too, and you guys would have heralded him for doing so. I believe even UT would "survive" without a guy like James, but it sure feels comforting to have him.

I agree on Sims, though. I want him at UT and think he'd be destined for more PT here, but I think when it's all said and done he's in Bama next year.

Dang. If CMR himself did not get him you could be right. We will just fight it out with Saban then. Vols, Everyone!

They JUST won a national championship...why would he do that? If he goes to UGA, I'm going to fall off out of my chair laughing.

“Tennessee, West Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, Florida State, and Florida are schools I am interested in. I don’t have a leader, I am not ready to commit to anyone yet, and I just want to see what happens. Alabama is still in there too.”

One school visited Sims earlier this week and the visit went very well. Lane Kiffin and Ed Orgeron spent time with Blake and his family on Tuesday and the Vols are definitely under consideration.

“They were at my house for a while and we talked about a lot of things. I have been up there before, I like their coaches, and I am looking at them right now.”

- Scout... He would either be a WR or a safety here. I see him more as a safety jmo...
