The most interesting thing in that article I read is the UGA thing. We knew he was going to decommit about a month ago, but thought it was because of the full court press that CMR was putting on combined with the family wanting him to go there. Now this article is the 2nd one I have read that says he is no longer hearing from UGA. For whatever reason they backed off now.

So I would say he is all UT, because UGA and UA are no longer in the picture.

I am really starting to think that he might be a sign and place kid.

Wherever he ends up I wish him the best.

Whatever reason is that they simply do not have room.

This guy is in no danger of sign and place, TW. He's a full qualifier. You are sounding more and more like a homer every day.

this is what people say(including us) when they arent too disappointed(sp) over a recruiting leaving.

Sorry if you think that, but I do wish the kid the best. I do not think it is a issue with no room for him at UGA though. It was just last month that CMR came after him and put the press on him, and I have not seen them get alot of recruits since then and they only have 19 commits right now.

He will be a Vol and I hope he does your program well.

Well I know that the guy who originally recruited him to UGA is no longer there. That might have something to do with the limited contact. I'm not so convinced that they have stopped recruiting him.

I just know that last month CMR showed up at his house and tried to convince him to come to UGA. Sims in an interview was torn becuase they were his dream school according to him and never understood why until then(Dec) they really never recruited him or showed interest. Accoring to Sims and his family if UGA would have offered him before UA did he would have went to UGA in a heartbeat. Now a month later in the article above Sims said that he has not heard from UGA. Maybe now that he has opened back up they will call, but I think he is UT bound.

I think UT will end up gutting Georgia this year.

We could finish with TJ Stripling, Da"rick Rogers, Nickell Robey and Blake Sims in our final 8-10 guys...

I was wrong on my timing. This was all about 2 months ago but it was CMR that came after him. We figured he would leave, especially since the one opportunity for him to maybe play offense just changed around that time with the commitment of D White WR from Texas who will be playing today. D White is going to be a slot WR for us and right now is better then Sims for it. Does not mean that Sims can not play there but I think Sims saw himself ending up on D and not where he wants to be.

Georgia is making a major push to recruit Gainesville quarterback Blake Sims. And it has created a bit of a moral dilemma for the player and his family.

But Bulldogs’ head coach Mark Richt, who has had a relationship with Sims and his family for four years, has taken a personal interest in changing Sims’ mind and convincing him to come to UGA instead.

“That was pretty cool,” Blake’s father, Sonny Sims, said of getting a phone call from Richt on Monday. “Coach Richt has been part of Blake’s life for a long time. We’ve got pictures of Blake with Coach Richt as a 9th grader. That’s why we couldn’t understand why Georgia didn’t snag him early because he’d been groomed all his life for Georgia. Everything in our house was Georgia.

“Here’s what we’re dealing with: The parents a love Coach Richt,” Sonny Sims said. “Blake loves coach Richt. We’ve known him for four years and we think he’s the perfect man for our child to live with for the next four years.

This was then and now UGA according to Sims has not been in touch. Again I will say he is heading to UT.

He now says he has completely re-opened his recruitment and is considering Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, West Virgina and Michigan as well as Alabama.

For this you can thank the Tennessee Volunteers. Head coach Lane Kiffin and assistant Ed Orgeron had an in-home visit with Sims on Wednesday and convinced him he should play on the offensive side of the ball in college and not on defense. Sims had concerns that Alabama wanted him to play cornerback and he was not enamored with the Tide’s offense anyway.

What is the fascination about Blake Sims? We've heard more about him over the last year that I ever thought we would. Where do they want him? They're not going to play him at QB....and it seems odd they would be pushing for him at WR.

He was at our camp and has shown stellar speed and athleticism. Kiffin loves the guy. He knows that he won't play QB in the college ranks, but he will be able become a great athlete at WR, kick return, punt return, etc.

We are trying to improve the speed on our team. This kid is being recruited very hard by Mark Richt himself. He must be pretty darn good.

Well once he signs the paperwork he will play the position he is needed or sit. He could turn out to be a great DB or WR. Plus we have a chance to stick it to the :naughty: What gets better than that?

Kiff likes to throw the fb and wants as many targets as possible especially considering all the injuries we had last year.
