i just repeated what i read on gvx that said they were decked out in red. another poster (thanks) pointed out that was his hs colors. i never said they had bama clothes on.

Yes I know. I was responding to what they said in the GVX article. Those guys really need to start doing their homework. Just saying he was decked out in red was completely pointless when everything he was wearing were his High School's stuff.

dont get your hopes up

I wouldn't get my hopes up about hanging on to him if I were you. Someone that spoke at length with his parents said that his commitment was far from solid and he may in fact de-commit at some point. Nice flame attempt though.

"We had no idea how things would be blown out of proportion when Blake went to Tennessee. We spoke with Coach Saban about this very early on that Blake was going to camp at several places this summer to learn new things and get better," said Sonny Sims who was an all-around athlete himself at Clark-Atlanta University before an injury ended his career. "Blake won't have an opportunity to play receiver this fall. He is Gainesville's quarterback, and he won't have a chance to improve at receiver this summer unless he camps. Coach Saban completely understood and had no problem with it.

"Blake is done. He is going to Alabama. When our family visited Tuscaloosa, we knew right away that Alabama had everything Blake needed. It is a perfect situation for him, and Coach Saban told him that where he played in college was completely up to him. Blake really respected that."

:eek:k::cray: BYE BYE MR. SIMS

He's solid. He told Coach Saban that he wanted to play DB or WR instead of QB. He won't get a chance to paly WR his senior year because he is the QB, so he is going to camps to get better at WR and Coach Saban is cool with that. Like he said, don't get your hopes up dirty vols.

That said, the elder Sims relayed that his son did had some news for Saban this morning.

"He called Coach Saban this morning and told him that he wanted to play receiver or defensive back in college. He told Coach Saban if they needed to sign another quarterback to go ahead," said Sonny Sims. "He worked out at receiver and defensive back at Tennessee and really no one out there could cover him. He has such great God-given athlete skills that he needs to take advantage of it, and if he has plans to play in the NFL one day, he needs to get started as soon as possible at one of those positions. We are just going to let Coach Saban decide where they need him the most.

good as gone

Next up for Sims is a passing camp at Georgia this weekend and then a return trip to Tuscaloosa.

"We can't wait to get back to Tuscaloosa. We are making it a mini-family vacation," said Sonny Sims. "Blake is going to work out Sunday and Monday, and Coach Saban said they are going to put him through the same workouts and drills they do at their own practices. That will really benefit him for when he moves to Tuscaloosa."

Sims accounted for over 2,000 all-purpose yards and 30 touchdowns last fall.

and thats the rest of the story:birgits_giggle:

If the shoe was on the other foot I would be nervous too. It's completely understandable. No need for you, Bama fans, to post on our board. Thanks for visiting, but go away

agree that is what I'm hearing. He is as solid as Nu'Keese and Janzen were to their commitments in January. :)

Like I said, Sims' parents spun a slightly different tale at the camp. This is a guy that Tennessee is continuing to recruit. Funny that you Bammers feel the need to come over here and assure us that he's all Bama if you're so darn certain.

We'll see about that. He's far from a lock. I hope you have the decency to come back to this thread and admit you were wrong when it goes down.

Is there anyone on the planet that is naive enough to believe that?

Saban will do whatever is best for Saban, and that means paying recruits wiht nice big fancy cars.
