'10 GA ATH Blake Sims

Is there anyone on the planet that is naive enough to believe that?

Perhaps the Sims' family? But Saban preys on the gullibility of prospective Bammers. They need a photo of his dad for this online dictionary.

gul·li·ble (gŭl'ə-bəl)
adj. Easily deceived or duped.

[From gull2.]
gul'li·bil'i·ty n., gul'li·bly adv.

Gullible

Gul"li*ble\, a. Easily gulled; that may be duped. -- Gul"li*bii`i*ty, n. --Burke.

1793 (implied in gullibility), earlier cullibility (1728), probably connected to gull, a cant term for "dupe, sucker" (1594), which is of uncertain origin. It is perhaps from the bird (see gull (n.)), or from verb gull "to swallow" (1530, from O.Fr. goule, from L. gula "throat," see gullet); in either case with a sense of "someone who will swallow anything thrown at him." Another possibility is M.E. dial. gull "newly hatched bird" (1382), which is perhaps from O.N. golr "yellow," from the hue of its down.

I wasn't all that impressed with him as a wide receiver. I was really surprised the coaches gave him an MVP award. I think for Sims to be a major impact player in the SEC he has to be a defensive back.

Exactly. Matthieu was all around MVP of camp as far as I am concerned. It is hard to shut down WR on a consistent basis during 1 on 1's and he did it all day long.

He was sticking to them like glue. Impressive to see that kind of cover skills from a guy that isn't receiving national attention.

Do you guys think there is a good chance of him de-commiting from Alabama and switching to us?

Not necessarily concurrently. If he de-commits from Bama, I expect him to take a little more care with his next decision. Although I think we would lead with Bama and UGA trailing.

Some of you have seen this rumor already---

I don't know if it originally started with folks at Scout or Rivals, but it seems to have some legs.

the buzz is that Sims has been unhappy with Bama's dishonesty with him (telling him that he would get his first look at QB, then recruiting Phillip Sims immediately after taking his pledge) and that Georgia said "no thanks" due to their lack of available spots.

he could be Tennessee-bound, if the staff gives it the okay.

I really want Blake. It almost sounds like a done deal that he won't be going to Bama...

For what position though? He definitely doesn't look like a QB that would fit into our system. We need a QB. I would prefer the other Sims.

He will end up at Safety or WR depending on who you talk to. I like him as a WR. I'm sure that I'm alone on this, but I want him just as much as Ambles, maybe more...

I hate it for the kid. To commit to a school/staff and then feel as if you have been betrayed. That would just suck. Whatever he decides to do, I wish him the best of luck from here on out...

I haven't followed the situation that closely, but from everything reported with a Bama slant to it, Blake Sims does not want to play QB in college. If he decommits from Bama it would be because he does not feel he would ever see the field as a DB or WR.

Bama has commitments from 2 safeties for 2010, and the WR/CB depth is starting to get deeper with each new signing class.
