Put any spin you would like on it. Coach Lamb does certainly have ties to UGA- imagine that a long time high school coach IN Georgia getting along well with the home state school. However, I have never heard him accused of pushing one school over another with any previous recruit. I doubt he would have had any problem with Nance and/or Rogers going to UT if there had not been some serious back-door politics involved in the situation.
However what is done is done. I just find it funny that people who don't mind dirtying their hands to get what they want have a problem when people look at them a bit differently after the dirt sees the sunshine. Congrats on getting a great athlete. As for the academic situation, even before this whole ruckus started it was being said around GA boards that he would need an A average this last semester to qualify, but luckily he does have some wealthy friends to help pay for the tutor so you guys should be good.
:lolabove::rock:Da'Rick Rogers' snub of his home state school hasn't set too well with Georgia faithful. The four-star receiver, widely considered the top player in the state, chose SEC East rival Tennessee in the final weeks after being committed to UGA.
Twitter wars have already begun between Bulldog freshman safety Bacarri Rambo and Rogers, who will meet on the field when the Vols play Georgia Oct. 9.
Here is the exchange as reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution: It started with a Facebook status update by Rambo, who wrote: "Bacarri Rambo thinks [it] is messed up how all of UGA high school commitments back out on us but I'm telling you now when I catch you on the field I'm going to knock fire from you."
Rogers responded Saturday on Twitter: "Who is Bacarri Rambo?"
Rambo is a fellow Georgia product who signed with coach Mark Richt in 2008, but didn't officially see the field until last season, when he had two interceptions.

Rogers was a player that was going to become a Georgia Bulldog, no question about it. Early on in the process he was all Alabama and why wouldn't he after all he looked like a mirror image of Julio Jones. At that time he was starting to mention Florida as well as his top two teams. Little did I know at that time, his high school coach has a brother that does some work for the Georgia football staff (From what I was told) and it was clear that he was going to Georgia. When Florida saw Rogers in early May they came away thinking the kid was the next T.O. Time passed and Rogers did announce for the Bulldogs and it was open and shut, period.
Long time friend Nash Nance was going to attend and committed to Vanderbilt. Things appeared solid but Rogers like Michael Taylor attended the Under Armour game in Orlando and came away very impressed with the Gator players and was asking questions. The kind of questions that made people believe (including me) there was NO WAY on earth he was going to end up in Athens. The Georgia staff had him as the number one player in this class for them and pressured him to no end. It drove the kid away and while we were in Orlando, I said it's over that kids going to end up in Gainesville if the Gators pursue him.
They decided to go in a different direction and he opted to go to Tennessee leaving the in-state Bulldogs high and dry on NSD. The Bulldogs experienced this year what the Gators did last year with late year defections and it happens to everyone. There was some talk late between Mr. Mike Nance (Nash Nance's Father) and the Florida staff. It appeared that after the Tennessee visit both Da'Rick and Nash would visit Gainesville but as I stated above the Gators were never going to seriously pursue Rogers because of grade and character issues.
