'10 GA ATH Da'Rick Rogers

Just think of Prater as comparable to a slightly taller Meach, while Rogers may be a poor mans Harvin. Both excellent WRs, just different styles. We would take either, but Prater probably fits what we want to do a litter better. JMO

What do you mean? Meachem was 6'3" around 215 and ran sub 4.4... almost a mirror image of Rogers. Harvin was 5'11", if that.

Assuming the 40 times are accurate for Prater and Rogers, Prater isn't like any of the others. He's bigger and not as fast.

rogers may not qualify and takes up 2 scholarships. prater >>> rogers

the way I saw Dixon jammin Prater at the line at the AA game, He looks like he's gonna need some major polishing.

I think Rogers is a Meachem type player, while Prater is a Julio Jones type player. Ambles is kinda like Reggie Wayne because he isn't huge or super fast, but he is fluid and gets open (not saying he will be as good).

I wasn't arguing which one UT should push hardest for... Just that the comparison was wrong.

I like Rogers speed if those times are legit. Prater looks pretty incredible too... and you can't argue with the way Ambles has looked against the best competition. If he'd caught that one ball Saturday then he might have gotten the East squad MVP. Reports coming out made it sound like he was the best WR there... at least on the East team.

I don't know how fast any of them actually are or how fast they are top end... which is actually more important.

However, Ambles seemed to get separation better than any of the WR's Saturday. He was running away from those top DB's.

If Prater comes the starting WR's should be Thompkins, Ambles and, Prater.

Gerald Jones had a very good second half of the year. He will be a Senior and will start. Thompkins will have the best chance at starting right away, but all will see significant action.:eek:k:

its one game. and he was distracted. he dominated in the practices.

distracted , ehh I dont buy that

one game, I'll give u that...

but Dixon was really pressing him meanwhile
Dixon could barely get a hand on Markeith off the LOS

I'll take the one game into consideration but when the one game u see of him vs DI caliber opponents, he just isnt gonna walk in and be a starter from day 1 as suggested in this thread

you probably thought our WR corps this past year would have been Teague, Nuke, and Warren with Brown being the feature back and Askew leading the defense at MLB huh?

There is a lot of camp video of Ambles on the internet...and in every video he gets off the line better than anyone else in this class...He could actually be the most "polished" wr coming out of high school...

he played against d1 talent during the practices and everyone said he tore it up. even all the other players said hes a future number 1 draft pick. the kid is legit. one game cant take that away.

Anybody know what the article about him and Nance on VQ is about...

Want to play pro offense (Nance). Talked during season about dream of playing with Rogers together. He is best friend and always over at Nance's home. Will take visits (MS State) and others with Rogers. UT recruited Nance before this and then started back up after his season ended.

"Calhoun GA QB and WR Nash Nance and Da'Rick Rogers, Vandy and UGA commits, are excited to visit Vols and meet Derek Dooley."

"Nance and Rogers were both pleased when Vols OC Jim Chaney told them he was staying in Knoxville."

these are from Wes Ruckers twitter. very good news...

LV, taking Nance would put us at 5 QB's, correct? Could Nance play a different position?

Usually some of the best talent on a H.S. team plays the qb position. Is this the theory on this? Get him to campus and let him play into a position?

If he bulks up he could possibly play TE. he'd be a project but it would be better then 5th string QB. Plus i don't see La'maison sticking around for too long.

Looks like Stacy Searels has been recruiting Da'rick to Georgia. Would be huge if we could get Stacy.

I think we could use him for depth, first of all Nick S is gone next year, then Simms is gone I believe the year after that, and Nick L will be a full time clipboard holder, and that only leaves us with Bray. I don't think it will be bad to pick this guy up. Especially if it helps us with Rogers
