'10 GA OT JaWuan James

Hubbs mentioned Ambles leaning on James to come back and check UT out. I think the coaches want him and will try up until he signs. Never know. Bama has rumored to have cooled on Stone and are trying hard to get Kouandjio or Robinson from Olive branch.

I would love to get James, Fulton, Leifheit, Stone, Pair, Robinson, and Jose. I think that class would be a good start to getting us back to where we need to be up front.

Posters on TOS are saying James to Tennessee is already a done deal. Say that our coaches and Bama coaches know....dunno if its true but sounds good.

I think that poster, if it was mandiggo on VQ you are referring to was being sarcastic with his comments.

However, James is definitely looking around. I dont expect him to end up at Alabama.

Anyone heard anything about any other schools recruiting him? besides us and Bama.

I haven't really heard anything about any other schools besides UT. I would assume UGA would try to get him, but they only have 3 more spots in this class so who knows what they are gonna do...

Ok. I guess its time I speak about this.

I've heard for about 2 weeks James was going to open things back up. Theres talk that Georgia, Oregon, Tennessee, and a few others could be possible outlets.

I've also heard that he's been pushed out from 'Bama and the coaching staff at Bama has put a lock on SEC schools. We shall see what we can find out.

I can't see him ending up at Oregon... Georgia and UT are the only real schools I've heard being mentioned. I think we probably have the better, due to Ambles and also our need for OL, and we have more space for commits than UGA.

Saban and Bama can't put a lock on SEC schools. A verbal commitment to Bama means nothing more than a promise. The only thing Bama could do would be to ask the kid not to go to an SEC school, but if he wants to go to a school like UT or UGA, no ones stopping him.

How does a school put a "lock" on any other school prior to the recruit signing any scholarship/LOI? Maybe I am not understanding what you mean by "lock", but that seems like Saban just running his mouth??

This.

Our coaches need to reinforce to him that there isn't a d@mn thing Saban can do about it if he committed to another SEC school since it's only a verbal commitment.

Most people also say that James has been telling people that he wants to leave the state of GA. If he decommits from Bama, I really like UTs chances...

Our maybe Saban has a nice little Purse waiting for him if he goes out of the SEC...money talks. BAST#rds.

Or maybe your recruiting expert has no idea what he is talking about! You know, kinda like with Phillip Sims.

Besides, even non experts know that a coach can't forbid a verbal from signing elsewhere.

If we land this guy, Stone and one of the JUCO's we're after I think we could give an A+++++++ to this recruiting class on this position alone...

Stone, James, Fulton, Pair, Jose and one of the JUCO's...I believe that would qualify as filling our biggest need

What I've been told is that Bama would help him land somewhere and SEC was off limits to James with their help. Naturally he can say see you later and get into a school of his choosing because he hasn't signed a letter of intent.

I wasn't saying that Bama has said he can't go to any school because they won't allow it.

I don't think he goes to Oregon either, btw.

so what you're saying is that your sources have told you that the Bama staff is willing to do him a favor by taking over his recruitment and helping him pick an alternate school outside of the SEC?

Im missing something here. If he doesn't want to go to Bama, what do they have to do with his recruitment or placement at another school.

Honestly, rumors swirled about over Phillip Sims, and they proved to be false time and again. Why should this be believed?

Although Matt Phrem is being paid as a recruiting analyst/reporter by ESPN-affiliated Oregon and UT fan sites, it looks like Matt Phrem may also be in effect working as a recruiter for Oregon (primarily) and UT (secondarily).

Crimson Confidential.. Matt doesn't recruit prospects when he's talking to them though. He's a professional..

Thanks, that's what I thought the answer would be -- another ESPN-affiliated site. On the one hand, anyone who is paid to do anything for a living is a professional. On the other hand, professional carries a connotation of being ethical. Matt posts unsubstantiated rumors, inuendos, teasers, etc. -- hardly professional. His posts and rumors also tend to involve sudden changes in recruits' leanings predominately toward Oregon and/or to a lesser extent Tennessee. Matt is a devout Oregon Ducks fan. All of this creates suspicions as to whether Matt perhaps attempts to influence recruits that he talks with. Matt's behavior is hardly what ESPN and its affiliated fan sites should expect and accept from him. JMHO.
