'10 GA OT JaWuan James

What I've been told is that Bama would help him land somewhere and SEC was off limits to James with their help. Naturally he can say see you later and get into a school of his choosing because he hasn't signed a letter of intent.

I wasn't saying that Bama has said he can't go to any school because they won't allow it.

I don't think he goes to Oregon either, btw.

This post has be seriously scratching my head. Are you serious? First to think Bama would "lock" him down from SEC schools and second to think they would help him go elsewhere?

Can we nominate Sab or eric to be UTs writer?

Thanks, that's what I thought the answer would be -- another ESPN-affiliated site. On the one hand, anyone who is paid to do anything for a living is a professional. On the other hand, professional carries a connotation of being ethical. Matt posts unsubstantiated rumors, inuendos, teasers, etc. -- hardly professional. His posts and rumors also tend to involve sudden changes in recruits' leanings predominately toward Oregon and/or to a lesser extent Tennessee. Matt is a devout Oregon Ducks fan. All of this creates suspicions as to whether Matt perhaps attempts to influence recruits that he talks with. Matt's behavior is hardly what ESPN and its affiliated fan sites should expect and accept from him. JMHO.

I dont ever talk to recruits about going to a school, any school, in hopes they go to a place I want them to. I hardly even push Tennessee questions when calling for UT.

Tell me where I am influencing recruits to schools?

James to Oregon, I was told that info from the recruiting head at CC.com. I was also told that info about Bama pushing him out and not wanting him to stay in the SEC.

I also talked to another writer who told me Tennessee is in play.

You don't want me to report on rumors, ok, fine. I'll keep my posts strictly to what I write.

Fine by me

FWIW Matt, I really enjoy your contributions to this site. Any info you provide, rumor or interview, makes this site that much better. Sorry you had to find out like this, but now you have an idea why 'bammers are so disliked. Once again, thank you for your efforts.

It sounds like you haven't spoken to James or his HS coach recently about the status of his commitment. Someone who has done that, specifically to determine whether there is anything to the rumors you are propagating, has stated that virtually everything you just said is inaccurate at best; that James is still rock solid in his commitment to Bama. Undertand Matt, recruits do talk about recruiting analysts/reporters who say inappropriate things and ask innappropriate questions.

Please let us know where you got your information from? Are you saying that you have spoken to James or his coach?

I am definitely not saying that I personally spoke to James or his HS coach. It was a professional and very ethical recruiting analyst / reporter who did.

This guy says he hears some rumors that are total fabrications and some of you guys completely buy in. The funny part is when others, who know it's complete garbage, sit back and watch the post count rise after said rumor. He's toying with you! I guess it really isn't your fault, though.

You Bammers are about as naive in this situation as many of the UT fans were with the P. Sims situation when all those 'rumors' surfaced..

A lot more smoke in this situation...

The best in this business of news and predictions of these high school recruits, are wrong from time to time (some more than others). Period. Most of the recruiting process of these kids, are full of guesses and rumors. To expect anything else is ridiculous. People want to know where these kids are going, before they even know. You have to expect situations where info is misleading, wrong, or just to early to tell. Welcome to the guess work of recruiting.

You claim you have this knowledge, which is great and thank you for sharing, but where is your proof? I trust Freak when it comes to his site and who he hires to do the reporting for his site, not you.

I have no if that rumor has any truth to it, but he lost all credibility when he said that Bama was keeping him from other SEC schools. He doesn"t even know the rules of a verbal. Come on.

The way I read it isn't that Alabama is trying to dictate where the kid goes like he's being released from a scholarship. Basically it sounds like Alabama is making the kid decommit and saying that they'll help him find another school to make up for it, but they won't help him land at an SEC school. If he wants to go to another SEC school he does so without Alabama helping in any way. But hey... what do I know?

Why would a fairly big-time prospect need help getting recruited. If he decommits, which I really doubt, he wouldn't need any help from Bama to find another school. It just doesn't make any sense.

Is there anything to these JaWuan James rumors? – As far as we know here at Crimson Confidential, there is nothing that has been substantiated that has given us any reason to believe that James has wavered from his original commitment to The University of Alabama. Rumors have been circulating throughout Oregon and Georgia sectors that James could possibly be de-committing and heading to a different school. We have been unable to receive comment from James, and his teammate (and another Alabama commit) Austin Sheppard has declined comment on anything regarding James’ commitment status.

From what we know over here, there is nothing to these rumors until a statement has been made. As far as I’m concerned, James is still solid to Bama until I’m told otherwise. Rumors like these happen every day, so it's important for others to not jump the gun and make any rash assumptions. We will be looking very closely for any contributing factors that could cause James to waver.

the kid's not answering their calls, but yeah he's still solid...

that could be reason for Bammers to think he's wavering...but I'm not about to try to go inside the mind of a Bammer.

Ok. I guess its time I speak about this.

I've heard for about 2 weeks James was going to open things back up. Theres talk that Georgia, Oregon, Tennessee, and a few others could be possible outlets.

I've also heard that he's been pushed out from 'Bama and the coaching staff at Bama has put a lock on SEC schools. We shall see what we can find out.

OK, maybe you should not speak about this. This is rookie mistake post #2.
