Mason's HS is the Lassiter Trojans. What color schemes would you expect his team to wear?

hearing that Mason is still receiving regular communication from the Tennessee staff on a weekly basis. he is expected to show significant improvement in his second year of starting. Mason may be one to watch down the stretch.

I agree, if this kid wants to play in Knoxville bad enough he will wait. It would suck to make the top qb prospects mad, just to offer an average joe a scholly.

My team was the "trojans" in high school, We wore Navy Blue and gold. No one really cares about USC down here.

You can tell he is lacking a little arm strength but he is also just a jr.! he also looked very accurate!

other reports were on the boards about Mason's performance from a recent Scout.com combine, but this is the first report I've seen from a writer---

NC State is making a big push to get Hutson to campus this weekend to see their spring game. After the Atlanta combine this past week Hutson has been hearing through his HS Coach that several schools want him to visit. Should have gotten on board early like UT and Purdue and Iowa and some of the others. I knew this would happen after he got in front of several scouts "eyes". UGA coaches had him call and they told him they had several "eyes" call them to notify them about his performance. Article on "TOS" talks about his accuracy and arm strength. Note: He and Connor Shaw finished 1 and 2 at QB and had a pass off. Hutson just missed a 40 yard pass into the wind and Connor Shaw hit a 10 yard out. Nash Nance or Blake Sims or any of the other dozen QB's present were'nt even in the running ( that's not a slap at them, just reality). He also made the top 8 offensive players in the combine out of over 200 invited athletes from the south. Time for UT to make it's move and pull the trigger! Go Vols!

Call me crazy, but the way he's got the happy feet when back in the pocket plus his ability to make the progressions and look the defender off kind of reminds me of peyton. Neither have got a rocket arm like guys like Stafford or Russell but can find the open guy.

Mason was featured in two new Scout articles and received a glowing report from Chad Simmons as a result of the recent combine. He said that he showed surprising arm strength and was much more impressive in-person than on the film he's seen.

I'm probably bigger on this guy than anyone else, but I think he would be a solid #1 for us this year. Scroggins and Mason would be the 2 perfect additions (besides Heaps) for the Vols IMO...

I agree I really like Scroggins and Mason is really starting to shine. Both of these guys would be a great addition to the offense.

Apparently he really likes Iowa. And he really enjoyed his visit there this past weekend.

Honestly, I have no clue. But alot of players get a verbal offer at the Spring Game. If I had to put money on it, I would say Kiffin offers him at the O&W game cuz his recruitment is about to heat up big time. Iowa cannot compete with the atmosphere that he is gonna see in Knoxville Saturday. And when Kiffin comes up to him after the game and says "Son, I'd like you to be the next quarterback at the University of Tennesssee", it will all be over. Him coming to Knoxville 3 times in barely over a month tells me he has a VERY high interest in the Vols...

i like this kid's highlights. I'm thinking Mason and Scroggins are Kiffin targets.
