'10 GA QB Nash Nance

Right. There are a few that "all Vol" everyone mentioned here. There are others who think UT commits bale to USC if they walk by a dispenser in a truck stop restroom.

Of course there are others who think "stars" awarded by a recruiting svc destine a player to greatness or failure.

Couldn't have said it better myself. The same people saying Ambles is gone and USC bound are the same people who said Jeff Luc to Tennessee. Markeith may or may not be a VOL, but it has not been decided yet. And I wouldn't put it past this kid to take a free visit from Kiffin and screw him over on NSD, that is just the attitude I see from him.

If he did that I would like the guy even more

I don't even think Markeith Ambles knows where Markeith Ambles is going.

Exactly. When he sits down, calms down, and asks himself where he wants to be... he could come back to UT. The kid's head is undoubtedly spinning right now from all the input he's getting.

A decision to go back to UT would actually consistent with human nature.

Most people when forced by time constraints to make a decision when still not convinced completely for any particular option will default back to whatever they felt comfortable with first.

I'm not predicting that Ambles will come back to UT. All I'm saying is the closer we get to NSD with no decisive commitment by Ambles somewhere else... the better UT's odds are.

Couldn't agree more...nice post!:good!:

But here is what I am worried about. Did you ever think that the reason he hasn't gone ahead and committed to USC is because Kiffen told him not too. Kiffen does not want it to look like he is stealing our recruits. I think Ambles has intended to do this all along ever since the day Kiffen left. He probably told Ambles to stay committed to UT for a while, then quietly decommit. Then, take a visit to USC. After the visit, don't say anything then sign on signing day and say you changed your mind last minute. This makes it look like he wasn't happy with the Dooley hire or something, but in all reality he intended to go to USC all along.

Hope he makes the right decision. Nance I mean.

Even if Rogers dosen't come, and I hope he does, the Nance kid seems to be a very high character guy. The things I have read on him have been really positive.

Yes. But the benefit to CLK in doing so isn't enough. He doesn't need to make a splash at USC to get attention and probably knows that if he looks any more like he's screwing UT over that it could hurt him in the future.

That ship has sailed. The trusting side of me says they're just going after UT's recruits and commits because it is who they know... but I don't feel alot of trust for Kiffin. I think there's a very good chance at this point (after his mom's comments in KNS) that he's trying to get good players and simultaneously screw UT over.

I have no problem with the idea that Kiffin is capable of a plot like this... I don't even doubt that Ambles would do it if he were inclined to. However it looks like he is genuinely struggling with the decision. He'd been so fixed on and had so much vested in UT that it had to really blow him up emotionally when all that happened.

Nothing he's saying or doing may matter once/if he stops long enough to have a moment of mental and emotional clarity.

I think Nance could really be a good one. There has been a suggestion that his arm strength needs improvement but his other measureables look really good.

Decision making usually sets good QB's apart... and is one of the more difficult things to predict.

+1

If Chaney likes him, I'm on board the Nance boat. Arm strength is nowhere near as important in the college game and seems like 90% of the statistically dominant QB's in college lack the strength to make every throw. It's guys like Matthew Stafford and Jamarcus Russell that get drafted (and at least in the latter example, look at how well that has turned out in the pros). I mean Crompton had a nice year this last year, but prior to that he had all the arm strength in the world and yet no one had a bit of confidence in his decision-making.

If Nance is the kind of QB that can absorb an offensive playbook and read defenses then he's on the right track and I say bring him in regardless of Rogers.

seems he's very smart for sure.

So let's say we do get Nance, does anyone think we would run the spread with him at QB? If i can recall, I believe Purdue ran the spread under Chaney with Brees. Judging from some of his highlights, it looks like Calhoun ran a similar offense to Purdue's.

Joe Montana biggest faults was not having a big arm, well we all know how that turned out.

Noooooooo..........:banghead2::banghead2::banghead2:

Everyone runs some elements of the spread but UT needs to stay with the NFL model if they're to have any hope of bringing in the players needed to win championships.

I didn't say that I wanted us to run the spread, I said does anyone THINK we will run the spread with Nance at QB. I like our traditional pro-style offense, and im not a fan of us running the spread offense.

Florida recruits very well running the spread. Not a fan, but it can be done.

You're right tho bro. I watched Chaney and Brees' highlights the other day and it is the spread and I even posted on here why that's the reason Chaney is going after Nance and how the kid ran a similar type offense at his HS. I got scolded for it. You're right tho.

anything from the meeting with vandy today?

A quick scan of the Vandy Scout forums indicates they barely know and/or care regarding recruiting, so I don't think we know much yet. I would bet we won't hear much out of respect for Rogers. But the Vandy fans all wanted to pull Nance's scholly for him visiting UT and think Jordan Rodgers is a 6* QB apparently (I'm embellishing) in comparison.

They also say Bray is a 2* QB at best who will never see the field.

Funny stuff.
