'10 GA QB Nash Nance

When did Nance decommit? I knew that I should not have gone to bed last night.

Wow...what a misspelling!

IHATE...They have just said he is your typical "Soccer Dad" and is an egomaniac and is enjoying the power of handling Rogers and that Rogers needs to get away from him. I think it is only because Rogers might actually be considering us, no matter how little.

I still say it is like 80-90% that Rogers goes to UGA, but as the movie quote goes..."So you're saying there's a chance..."

I think Rodgers is a 60-70% lean to the Vols. I really feel like we sign this kid. He had never visited anywhere but UGA and he had nothing to compare it to. As far as I know, the only ties he has to Georgia, is that he lives there. Our facilities smokes theirs, and he is obviously impressed with coach Bagget and his resume. It looks like Nance will be a Vol and all Rodgers has to do is sign as well and they can play their college ball together, which is important to them. No where else could they do that, especially at an SEC school.

I know a Vanderbilt guy and know for a fact that Vandy pulled Nance's scholarship when he decided to visit Tennessee last weekend. I know that most of their football staff didn't actually want him to commit when he did in the summer but Nance knew that they were about to have some better prospects visit so he committed to save his spot. Throughout the year, most Vandy fans were not too sold on Nash and were outspoken about it. Some were looking for any reason to get another QB before the Vols even came into the picture. I know that even the coaches thought it would be wise to get a second high school QB in the class. The JUCO kid, who is pretty good, was brought in more for competition for their starting QB job, not because of Nance.

Chaney will need to be a miracle worker to make this kid be anything more than a benchwarmer, so I'd like to see them avoid Nance. I hear that his dad is a real pain in the rear end too and Vandy's actually happy to not have to deal with him anymore. He's been lying to the press about the JUCO deal and if you look at it from an objective point of view, there are some real screwed up rumors coming out of Georgia about his dad. I think the Vols should stay away, not sure if Da'Freak is even worth it. What if they come, Nance's dad does like things and pulls out Nash and Rogers goes with him? What would've been the point then?

All I know is that Vandy hasn't been an option for him since he visited and that's a fact.

There's a lot of truth in your post, and a lot of opinions. I can say the the truth part, about his scholly being pulled is 100% true. I think it's hilarious that Vandy thinks pulling schollies is good business for them. Plus, it makes them look like total idiots for taking the JUCO commit after they told Nance they weren't actively recruiting QBs.

Welcome to VolNation. Post often.

My calculations say 67.837% VOL

Miss. St. offered both and they really like the coach. But I don't see them going there.

That would be a huge shock. Don't see that coming close to happening even if they both decided to visit them this weekend. Which they aren't.

Florida recruits very well running the spread. Not a fan, but it can be done.

In case you hadn't noticed... Florida has like 45 four and five star players while Tennessee has something around 5. There are alot of FL kids who grow up fans and wouldn't go anywhere else. When you start from that foundation, you can add the finishing touches nationally. UT's bread and butter has to be regional and national recruiting. The Vols MUST give a kid another reason to leave their home state.

Another angle- When was the last time UF put a true RB in the NFL? They aren't exactly filling rosters with WR's either. I happen to like Tebow without the Gator logo... but I seriously doubt he'll be a good NFL QB due to his delivery problems.

UF vs UT in recruiting isn't an apples to apples comparison.

This info came from another source (not as reliable as my original source). They said they UGA offered Nash yesterday and he told them no thanks. He also said that Nash and Da-Rick were both UT bound. Makes sense with UGA offering Nash. That is a desperation move and one that the Nance family probably didn't appreciate.

Who is your source, DR B? None of what you just posted is true. All of it is total BS. Seriously, dude. Gheesh.

Rivals doesn't have him listed as a committ on the Vandy page, so that says alot. On another note, rumor is he has made his father start having Fanny Farkle pepper and sausage hot dogs shipped to Calhoun for him and Rogers COULD THIS BE A SIGN.....?

so I guess that means Nance is a UT commit basically and he is working on Rogers. Interesting turn of events.

If you go back to the first post it has only TN listed ? sorry didn't se it posted above. But it didn't show an offer from Vandy.

not sure who the Nashvega11 guy is but I think it is pretty laughable to say Vandy pulled any Qbs scholarship especially the one they set their eyes on from the beginning. If it is true they are just trying to save face because the kid looks to be a VOL

This could be excellent news if we get both. D2 is flat getting it done! Also, in the future, expect many more prospects for us than has been the norm outta Texas. The last coach didnt believe in Texas HS talent. He thought all talent resided in S Fla or the w coast. BIG mistake.
