'10 GA QB Nash Nance

A quick scan of the Vandy Scout forums indicates they barely know and/or care regarding recruiting, so I don't think we know much yet. I would bet we won't hear much out of respect for Rogers. But the Vandy fans all wanted to pull Nance's scholly for him visiting UT and think Jordan Rodgers is a 6* QB apparently (I'm embellishing) in comparison.

They also say Bray is a 2* QB at best who will never see the field.

Funny stuff.

lol

I know a Vanderbilt guy and know for a fact that Vandy pulled Nance's scholarship when he decided to visit Tennessee last weekend. I know that most of their football staff didn't actually want him to commit when he did in the summer but Nance knew that they were about to have some better prospects visit so he committed to save his spot. Throughout the year, most Vandy fans were not too sold on Nash and were outspoken about it. Some were looking for any reason to get another QB before the Vols even came into the picture. I know that even the coaches thought it would be wise to get a second high school QB in the class. The JUCO kid, who is pretty good, was brought in more for competition for their starting QB job, not because of Nance.

Chaney will need to be a miracle worker to make this kid be anything more than a benchwarmer, so I'd like to see them avoid Nance. I hear that his dad is a real pain in the rear end too and Vandy's actually happy to not have to deal with him anymore. He's been lying to the press about the JUCO deal and if you look at it from an objective point of view, there are some real screwed up rumors coming out of Georgia about his dad. I think the Vols should stay away, not sure if Da'Freak is even worth it. What if they come, Nance's dad does like things and pulls out Nash and Rogers goes with him? What would've been the point then?

All I know is that Vandy hasn't been an option for him since he visited and that's a fact.

Well, Rivals currently shows UT as his only program of interest, so in the interest of giving you the benefit of the doubt, I'll agree with your very last sentence. That IS all you know, and the rest of your inaugural VN post is a gigantic FAIL.

speaking as someone who has coached in high school and played in college...if a coach of a college program (any sport) has control of their program, parents are not a blip on their screen compared to all the other headaches and the other more important things that the coach is dealing with on a day to day basis.

not saying you are wrong, you may be right. but if vandy did not want him "because his dad was a problem," that makes me think they were never enthused (for some other reason) about his commitment in the first place.

i have never recruited anyone, so TIFWIW, but I cannot imagine passing on a kid that i thought had talent or could help my program (individually or by bringing someone along with him) because of his parents. Go Get Nance and Rogers CDD!

I think Nance could really be a good one. There has been a suggestion that his arm strength needs improvement but his other measureables look really good.

Decision making usually sets good QB's apart... and is one of the more difficult things to predict.

Danny-something that many people said could barely get it over the rim of the bathtub while lying in it...even after he attended the U. of Swamp and looked pretty good.

Next thing I know... four years of hell-in-gator-world. :cray:

How many times have you said "FAIL" tonight?

Bitter Vandy fan sounds like a child "Well I didn't want it anyway." Last time I checked Vandy doesn't have the luxury of pulling scholarships from 3* players.

THis is total BS!! Tell me why the Vandy coach was in town yesterday???

This info came from another source (not as reliable as my original source). They said they UGA offered Nash yesterday and he told them no thanks. He also said that Nash and Da-Rick were both UT bound. Makes sense with UGA offering Nash. That is a desperation move and one that the Nance family probably didn't appreciate.

Ignorant post

Did we just get the "We didn't want him anyway" from a Vandy fan?

Wait a sec, there are Vandy fans?????????

If Chaney likes him there is a reason. The old staff would have been wise to have listened to Chaney.

Cheney doesn't know what he is talking about. I mean what does he know about offense? Has he ever had prolific offenses in past? Oh yeah, well if you count his offense at Purdue and Wyoming. OK. Has he ever taken unheralded kids and turned them into high level QBs? HAH!.....wait...oh yeah. Drew Brees and Kyle Orton.

IHATE....

What about the stories of Senior Nance? The ones I hear from the UGA side....is it just fear that UT might have a slimmer of a chance?

Dick Cheney coached Drew Brees... I knew it was political!

Was it academic or athletic? Academic could have made them angry or just the fact they only want him now because they may lose DR. Pretty lame on UGA's part either way.

Wow...what a misspelling!

IHATE...They have just said he is your typical "Soccer Dad" and is an egomaniac and is enjoying the power of handling Rogers and that Rogers needs to get away from him. I think it is only because Rogers might actually be considering us, no matter how little.

I still say it is like 80-90% that Rogers goes to UGA, but as the movie quote goes..."So you're saying there's a chance..."

Not the case at all. He is a good man and he just wants the kids to make the decision that is right for them. This is not about him at all. And yes there is a chance. I am not 100% that either is a vol yet but it is looking good.
