'10 GA QB Nash Nance

Nash is from my home town. He is a great kid that comes from a great family. He has really bulked up in the last year or so and has the perfect look for a big time QB. This year will tell the story on him. He has transferred from a private school with ZERO talent around him to Calhoun HS (state runner-ups). He will be throwing the ball the Da-Rick Rogers all year so the talent will be there. I look for him to have a great year. The down side is he will be running the spread offense at Calhoun. He will never take a snap under center. Probably not what Kiffin is looking for.

"NC State's facilities were fantastic," Nance said. "I like Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Duke, NC State of course, and Harvard as well. It's going to be hard to turn down an education like Harvard."

Nance added that he will attend a bunch of one-day camps, most of them with Rogers. Nance said that NC State offered Rogers, a four-star prospect, while they were in Raleigh.

"Da'Rick is like a brother to me," Nance noted.

Harvard?

Once again AA ball. Also the boys down in Buford think their qb Alex Ross is going to be a superstar next yr. He didn't play last yr bc BU had a senior qb playing, so this fall will be his first yr leading the team. We'll see.

Coach O visited with Nance today at school and gave him a written offer from Tennessee. Possibly a ploy to get back in the door with Da'Rick Rogers?

"Coach [Ed] Orgeron came by the house today when me and Da' Rick Rogers had just finished playing ping pong and he offered me then," said Nash Nance.

"Coach Orgeron sat down and talked to us both and we both set official visits to Tennessee on January 22."

Per Scout... This is a big time play for Rogers...

And people say we wouldn't go for package deals. Rogers is gonna be a meast and the coaches know it.

Then again, Nance is at least decent, but we already have 4 scholly QBs

Smart, but thats why it wont work.. This guy can surely see this is a ploy for Rogers. He is a 4.0 student after all...

Maybe the coaches don't think Lamaison will last and want Nash instead?

Thats a legit possibility too based on what I've heard on The House.

What are the chances that we are offering him because we know we will have extra scholarships left because of a smaller class?

Also, who knows, he could turn out. He's got some good numbers:

6'3 200lbs
4.74 forty
340 bench press which is huge
3,000 yards with 29 TD's
