'10 GA RB Mack Brown

do you guys find it a little sad how hopeful you guys are that Florida commits will drop them for other schools? I haven't seen many threads on the gator boards desiring any current ut commits

just b/c Florida does not desire our commited prospects means they are bad.....I've heard it all now....

it's got a lot to do with the quality of guys Florida's got committed and have a good chance of getting.

If we came up short with Hicks, I wouldn't mind taking Michael Taylor after his performance yesterday.

If we came up short with Powell, I wouldn't mind taking Corey Miller or Jacques Smith.

Mike Palardy and Jawaun James would be good gets but don't really have room for them as Sturgis will be a junior next year and we're so stacked at tackle that former starting left tackle Matt Patchan is saying there's a real chance he'll be playing blocking tight end next year after he recovers from his season ending injury. if one of the Pounceys goes then we'd have room for a guard otherwise the only offensive linemen we would take where we have a realistic shot at are Seantrel Henderson and Chaz Green as each will be visiting again this month.

It comes down to who can coach. You must have quality players and all the teams in this discussion have them in this class.

Nice conversation but if Chaz Green, Michael Taylor or Elam for example is a bust or a problem then as we all know, this is pure speculation. But is is enjoyable to talk about.

Hope Jimbo can coach is Urban coming back and jury is out on Lane, but I like our chances..

Gran is very high on Brown. One of ya'll's big sells to him was that you had a great RB's coach in Gran so he has already heard all about him. As I said recently Brown has contacted Jimbo and Gran and if he decommits look for him to go to Tally.

Basaccia...

Is he as good as Gran with ties to Florida?

I guess my question for UT fans is where are Lane's ties to the state of California. Ya'll have had 1 commit which was this year from that state and I thought when he came to UT he would bring some of those ties from Cali with him. IMO its going to be very hard for UT to compete year in and year out with UM, FSU, and UF in the state of Florida. I know we dont have any ties there which I wish we did, but I thought for sure ya'll would do solid in that state.....not trying to flame JW.

We have Bray (1). We are the leader for Cullen (2), still in it for Wright (3). We lost out on Scroggins (4) and appear to be out with Riley (5).

There were several other kids from CA that we were recruiting, but pulling 2-3 kids form CA is pretty solid for us. With USC getting who they want for the most part and the proximity of programs like UCLA, ASU, and Oregon, we will not pull in major numbers from there.

Picture this: You're a respected running backs coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. You've been invited to lead numerous camps in southern florida, and to speak at others. Do you not think a recruit would hold you in greater regards than Eddie Gran?
