If Bama, UF, and USC all pulled their schollies, this kid will be a Vol on June 1st. Where did the info about Bama and USC come from?

According to the USC fans on the MB, Carroll has definitely pulled their offer to Ambles...

Saban and Meyer have not pulled their offers yet according to their fans...

I don't like this. Carroll would not pull that scholly for no reason. Something else may be at work here...

Carroll can be a bit of a hothead himself and he may have tried to push a little too hard with the kid and perhaps Ambles pushed back (nixed a visit or camp)...?

If all these colleges are pulling their offers, it makes me worry if we really want him. I mean how bad of an attitude can you have to have a college pull your scholly?

And there has to be something substantial to it. All these schools aren't going to just pull an offer based on hearsay.

If pistol pete carrol is pulling his offer; I would tend to think we won't be too far behind unless he just felt he had better prospects with less baggage. Then again we need big targets at WR so who knows what we will do.

We're a little more starved for talent than USC at the moment. So we probably won't be as quick to pull offers and such. I say take Ambles anyway and just put him on a short leash. Once he gets here, he either gets with the program or gets the heck outta town.

the problem with that is that once he has to get the heck outta town he'll come back and break into someone's house...or is that just basketball players?

If USC is dropping Under Armour All-American WR Markeith Ambles (McDonough, Ga./Henry County), as its been rumored, then it's news to his high school coach.
Henry County coach Mike Rozier said that Trojans assistant Todd McNair was in his school for two hours last Friday checking up on Ambles.

"(McNair) was here, he had lunch and we had a nice visit," Rozier said. "He seemed like he wanted him. They can only come twice and they've been here twice so far. I don't know where these rumors are coming from."

Rozier added that Southern California head coach Pete Carroll had made his one allotted phone call to Ambles.

The talented receiver also confirmed his unofficial visit to USC in early June (a trip that also is supposed to include stops at UCLA and Cal) and a return trip to the Trojans' Rising Stars Camp on June 24-25 are still on.

"He's still going to the camp and I am supposed to go out there and work the camp," Rozier said.

There were also rumors about Georgia pulling off of Ambles. The Bulldogs have never officially offered him, according to Rozier. Ambles has stated multiple times that he is likely heading out of state.

One day, likely in the extremely distant future, we will learn to ignore message board rumors like the Ambles-USC offer until they are supported with a source/link :banghead2:
