“All I said was that I would like to go there,” Harris said. “I have gotten letters from them but they haven’t offered.”

From GVX...

Harris plays a position of need for UT.

The Vols listed only three non-senior, interior defensive linemen on its depth chart for the Orange and White Game: Montori Hughes, Victor Thomas and Chase Nelson. UT signed only one defensive tackle in the 2009 class: Arthur Jeffrey.

There was some late night confusion Thursday over whether Harris was a UT commitment. Volquest.com quoted Harris as saying he had not given UT a verbal commitment and that he would like to go to Tennessee. Later, insidetennessee.com, which was first to report Harris as a UT commitment, removed their story.

However, a source close to Harris’ recruitment re-confirmed afterwards that he was a UT commitment.

The guy at scout claims he told him exactly he was had verbally committed to the Vols and he has it recorded but that Harris has backed off from that statement. He does think he ends up here without a doubt but this is an odd situation.

My take on it is he was offered and committed but they want him to stay silent because we do have some big time guys still on the board and im sure they would prefer to keep the juco guys from speaking up too soon to scare off the HS guys.

thats my hope anyway ;)

I think he will end up at Tennessee as long as he can get out of JUCO and become academically eligible in the SEC.
