The problem isn't so much that X is recruiting him, at least for me that is. The problem I have is that for the entire year that he was here, Stanley was never on our radar. He never recruited him to come here. Then once he got to USC he starts recruiting him and tells him that "they only offer JuCo players that can come in and have an immediate impact" and that Stanley is a great talent.
However, while he was here he recruited 5 JuCo players. John Brown, Dequan Menzie, Kenbrell Thompkins, Nick Lamaison, and Matt Simms. Did he honestly feel that all of those guys could come in and make an immediate impact? 3/5 maybe. If that were really his philosophy Lamaison and Simms wouldn't be taking up two scholarships.
The problem isn't the fact that he does it, but the way he goes about it and the lies he tells while doing it.
That raises the question of why he wasn't on CLK's radar when he was at UT, but now that CLK is at USC and he has committed to UT now he wants him. It just seems like he's going for him out of spite (or possibly, desperation).
TheDooley has mentioned early on in his posting career that his source(s) are connected to the UTAD. Every call that TheDooley has made since he started posting has been money. Here's hoping he continues providing his info as often as possible.
the disturbing thing from tennessee's standpoint is that there doesn't appear to be any real buzz at the moment. Stanley hasn't spoken publicly since telling us last sunday night that he was a tennessee commitment and his visit as usc came as a surprise. Because of that you have to think that the vols could be in real trouble here.
Joe Schad tweeted on ESPN.com that Stanley asked for and was granted a release from USC today. Wonder what is plans are? Anyone heard?
Earlier in the month he was wanting to go to one of the Florida schools
Defensive End/ Linebacker Glen Stanley To FSU Instead Of USC? - Tomahawk Nation
So much for all the trouble that juco LB Glen Stanley went through to get out of his letter of intent to USC. Stanley did not participate in Florida State's first practice on Thursday, and it sounds as if he won't be able to play at all this season because of academic issues.
"It doesn't look like it from what we understand," coach Jimbo Fisher said. "We're doing some grade checks and making sure."
Even if Stanley can't play this season -- and how could he not have made sure he was eligible? -- he should be able to practice, unless he falls into some category that results in his being denied admission to the school. In that case, perhaps he might move on to a I-AA or Division II program.
On a more positive note, Fisher does expect juco CB Mike Harris, who also missed the first practice, to be cleared. "I think we'll be all right on that one," Fisher said. "It's just a matter of dotting the i's and crossing the t's."
