'10 JUCO LB Glen Stanley

The problem isn't so much that X is recruiting him, at least for me that is. The problem I have is that for the entire year that he was here, Stanley was never on our radar. He never recruited him to come here. Then once he got to USC he starts recruiting him and tells him that "they only offer JuCo players that can come in and have an immediate impact" and that Stanley is a great talent.

However, while he was here he recruited 5 JuCo players. John Brown, Dequan Menzie, Kenbrell Thompkins, Nick Lamaison, and Matt Simms. Did he honestly feel that all of those guys could come in and make an immediate impact? 3/5 maybe. If that were really his philosophy Lamaison and Simms wouldn't be taking up two scholarships.

The problem isn't the fact that he does it, but the way he goes about it and the lies he tells while doing it.

And good ole Glen fell for it hook, line and sinker. Coach Thompson wanted to recruit the kid but himself and ogre wouldn't allow for it.

Then, again, most of us believed himself's lies, but we were lucky enough to get a second chance with Coach Dooley.

Stanley has to live with this decision forever.

I personally can't wish him luck at USC but I can understand why he decided not to come here.

Is there any way we can get rid of the damned SEC math class?

When a kid takes a visit and the coaches are unaware, it's generally a bad sign.

That raises the question of why he wasn't on CLK's radar when he was at UT, but now that CLK is at USC and he has committed to UT now he wants him. It just seems like he's going for him out of spite (or possibly, desperation).

I vote 80% for spite. 20% for just being an @ss.

Vols needed LBs but "ogre" and himself didn't offer Stanley when they were at UT. Supposedly Coach Thompson was the way in to Stanley.

So himself is just being himself. He can't help it, and it will eventually be his downfall in both life and coaching.

TheDooley has mentioned early on in his posting career that his source(s) are connected to the UTAD. Every call that TheDooley has made since he started posting has been money. Here's hoping he continues providing his info as often as possible.

The Dooley has established e-cred in less than a month. It's quite impressive. If I'm keeping track of his predictions correctly he has Stanley going to USC, Williams staying with UT and UT landing Stone.

Stanley has academic issues so it's not a guarantee he gets in at USC or UT...

He's been a silent to USC since Saturday. Stone went from being a long shot when Kiffin was here to being a possibility. With Alabama taking Arie, we will likely land Stone.

the disturbing thing from tennessee's standpoint is that there doesn't appear to be any real buzz at the moment. Stanley hasn't spoken publicly since telling us last sunday night that he was a tennessee commitment and his visit as usc came as a surprise. Because of that you have to think that the vols could be in real trouble here.

Joe Schad tweeted on ESPN.com that Stanley asked for and was granted a release from USC today. Wonder what is plans are? Anyone heard?

So much for all the trouble that juco LB Glen Stanley went through to get out of his letter of intent to USC. Stanley did not participate in Florida State's first practice on Thursday, and it sounds as if he won't be able to play at all this season because of academic issues.

"It doesn't look like it from what we understand," coach Jimbo Fisher said. "We're doing some grade checks and making sure."

Even if Stanley can't play this season -- and how could he not have made sure he was eligible? -- he should be able to practice, unless he falls into some category that results in his being denied admission to the school. In that case, perhaps he might move on to a I-AA or Division II program.

On a more positive note, Fisher does expect juco CB Mike Harris, who also missed the first practice, to be cleared. "I think we'll be all right on that one," Fisher said. "It's just a matter of dotting the i's and crossing the t's."
