'10 MS OT Damien Robinson

How many years are we going to have to deal with a sub-par offensive line? I try not to get worked up about Kiffin, but when I think of our offensive line recruiting and what it could have been (vs. what it probably will be) I can't help it.

Maybe X planned on not recruiting any OL on purpose as an attempt to screw our University? Lol srry just bustin chops.
I agree with you btw.

Evidently, another poster heard HOOKER say that Robinson was visiting us this weekend. That is a big ole TIFWIW.

Weather is the biggest factor for why D Robinson is thinking about going to Ole Miss over UT.

He will have to drive 400 miles through ice and snow to get to Knoxville, and only 50 miles to Oxford.

CRAP!

How about driving to Memphis and hopping on a plane.

Which costs more, driving 50 miles or driving to Memphis and paying for a plane fare to Knoxville? Students are poor and cannot afford plane fares. I know. I was one for 8 years.

yeah, why the hell are these guys driving? Won't UT pay for their airfare?

We are talking about the trips home during his time at UT--not his recruiting official visit. Kids like to go home on weekends, during holidays, etc. It is nice to be close to home for some kids. I hope we get him, but the distance factor is always an issue with some kids.

Just wondering: What if he shows up and gets snowed in, can't get home. Is there a limit to what the University can do in a scenario like this?

That is not the issue. The issue is being close to home for visits during his time at UT. That is why some kids pick schools close to homeThe OV is not relevant.

It's my issue. If your going to quote me, use my quote in the correct context. I was talking about OVs not the socio-economic reasonings behind his choice of colleges.

i always thought the purpose of college was to get away from family, but maybe that was just me.

Robinson different, he wants to commute from Olive Branch to Ole Miss while living with his mother. That's why he's visiting UM this weekend.

I did not qoute you. I qouted someone else who said nothing about the OV, and it should be common sense that the OV is NOT relevant and not an issue becuase UT pays for it. It is the trips during college that is the issue for EVERY recruit where distance is a factor.:p

exactly!!! If i decided to even half way try in high school and get a scholarship my ass would high tail it to the west coast like pepperdine just b/c!!!

That can be true, but a person can get homesick real quick too, espeically if they have not been away from home before or if they always lived in one place (not used to moving around).

How about driving to Memphis and hopping on a plane.

I do see where I qouted you one time above, but there is no mention of the OV.:p Anyway, I am not trying to get in a pissing match here. I just wanted to point out that the OV is never the issue. It is the trips home during school.

Bad News...I hate snow

Per AP
I just spoke with Damien Robinson and he informed me that he will not be coming this weekend due to the weather. He said that does not hurt Tennessee's chances and that they are level with everyone else
